Tonight's episode is titled "Baby with a Machine Gun." I watched a couple of clips this afternoon on the press site that looked pretty interesting. MP talks about Deshawn and Erika sneaking off in one clip. She says she doesn't trust him and fears they're plotting a blindside. In the other clip we see Erika trying to sell Deshawn on taking out MP but he tells us he's not sure if that would be the best move for him.

Great episode! So much personal interaction in this episode that reminded me of classic Survivor. MP was voted out in a revote. She was too trusting of Ricard and too loyal to him. He orchestrated her demise and she ended up going with an idol in her pocket. Next week we're back to the stupid twists which is sad--no need for so many in one season. With MP gone I'm sensing Erika's going to win this season. Ricard has way too big of a target on his back now to make it to the end.

More later.

By "classic Survivor" do you mean black people ganging together to keep
it an all black show? Or do you mean the crying?

Imagine white players getting together and discussing "keeping it white".

I sel;dom agree with Elmo on anything but particularly after
Wednesday's episode definitely agree with him on that point which was
also heavily true on this year's Big Brother Canada.

(Where the winner spoke openly about his F3 boot in the interests of
ensuring a black person would win - which he hoped would be him BUT.
The thing is his F3 boot made enormous sense in game play and facing
the F2 and he had no reason to racialize his reasoning to the camera -
in strategic terms it was the obvious thing to do. Nothing more
complicated than "she's more likely to beat me at F2 than he is so
she's got to go")

I agree. Best episode of the season.

MP was voted out in a revote. She was too trusting of Ricard and too loyal to him. He orchestrated her demise and she ended up going with an idol in her pocket.

Ever since the merge, I had figured Ricard would be the player who would pull together the votes needed to break up the all-Black alliance.
I had assumed that he would try to take out Deshawn first, but also couldn't see him wanting to be in a F3 that included Shan. It was my
expectation that he would come for her before she came for him.

This tweet from Dalton is what I'm referring to and he's 100% correct.

"That fascinating scene between Shan and Deshawn is not “woke” Survivor. It’s CLASSIC Survivor! People wrestling with their conscience while also trying to win a million dollars is the entire basis of the game. Scenes like that have always been the lifeblood of the show. #Survivor"

I think Ricard acted too early. He has no connection with Deshawn and Danny and when Liana finds out he was the one behind the plan to take out MP, she'll seek revenge. Erika will also target him because he's a huge threat now. The twist will save him next week and cement this as one of the worst seasons ever.

I don't. He had to make his move while there were still enough people left in the game. If he had done nothing at F8,
Erika probably would have been voted out leaving him short of votes at F7. By voting out Shan, he solves two problems:
He removes the leverage that the Black alliance had, and he takes Shan out of the game which was something he had
planned to do eventually anyways.

He has no connection with Deshawn and Danny and when Liana finds out he was the one behind the plan to take out MP, she'll seek revenge.

Liana? She has nothing. Who could she possibly approach for support besides Danny and Deshawn?

Erika will also target him because he's a huge threat now.

Erika is likely to see things much differently.

The Black alliance couldn't have been that tight if Ricard felt comfortable going to two of them to take out one of their own.

Erika will work with Liana. She's been targeting huge threats throughout the game. Who's a bigger threat than Ricard right now? He just orchestrated the biggest move of the came and won the RC and IC to help pull it off.

For me the big unknown going forward is who will Xander work with and will anyone want to work with him?
