How is it that 'Jonny Fairplay' came to be known as such?
Did his tribemates christen him with this moniker? Or did the folks
here in the newsgroup come up with it?
Based on what I've read, I'm lamenting the fact that I didn't see that
season, 'cuz it sounds like it was a good one!
Thanks,
Shemp
He named himself.
He's my fav. S player of all-time although he's the most hated by the
general public.
He was a riot.
He used to be into professional wrestling (both as a promoter and
wrestler, I think). And he didn't play fair back then either. Hence he
adopted the wrestling moniker "Jonny Fairplay".

Yep, he used the name for his bad guy pro wrestling persona long before
appearing on "Survivor: Pearl Islands".
Everett W.
It was a name he used in some kind of backyard wrestling thing or something
like that. His "character" would say that was his name because he always
played fair, and then wouldn't, and then say, "well, I lied."

One of the columnists at http://www.lethalwrestling.com/ , C. England, was a
member of his promotion, and has quite a few amusing tales about JFP and the
rest of his Portland-based crew of idiots . . .
Heck, when I lived there, I had to train JFP for a telemarketing position.
And, yes, I thought he was an annoying fuck then, too.
