I hereby invite suggestions on how to save the marriage of Everett and
Emily Young, which has been undermined by Everett's past affair with the
medic TJ (which Emily thinks is still going on), and might be further
undermined by an Emily/Telford affair.

We shoot them both - they'd be joined in heaven ;)

She's on Earth, he's on Destiny, with no return to even our own galaxy
in view. I submit that in effect they don't HAVE a "marriage" -
certainly not one worth saving.

Sooner or later, he's just going to love the one he's with - unless TJ picks
someone else. I agree there is probably no saving this marriage.

That's always the first step.

Especially since in the episode "Life", Emily saw her husband fly into a

Anyone think to compare Young's marriage and Camilla's marriage?

Looks like Camilla's separation will make the couple stronger because
they had a strong foundation.

Looks like Young's separation will drive further wedges between the
couple because they had a very shaky foundation from the start.

The Michael/Terri Schiavo marriage remained legally in effect for 15 years
even though Terri was in a persistent vegetative state, so I see no reason why
the Young marriage wouldn't remain valid until it is legally dissolved in a
divorce.

Suggestion for Everett: Go privately to O'Neill, tell him about his problems
with Telford and Emily, and ask for the following favors:

I: Quietly post Telford to some alien planet so that he can't visit with
Emily anymore.

II: Befriend Emily or have someone else do so (such as Samantha or Mrs.
Armstrong) so as to counteract Telford's influence. That someone might be
able to get Emily to talk about her feelings re the infamous Everett Affair
and perhaps convince her to forgive Everett.

Malcom, thank you for suggestion # II.
