What's being done to provide emotional support to the families of
Destiny crewmembers?
I urge that Destiny family members meet for social events once a month,
and that Destiny family members also visit each other's homes on an
informal basis.
IIRC, most family members do not know anything about Destiny or
Stargates at all. Most of them think their family member is on a secret
mission that will take them out of contact for a long time (e.g.
Afghanistan or Iraq.) You wouldn't have a support group here for family
members of Spies or Navy Seals sent to Afghanistan, would you?
You worry too much.
Actually, there are support groups for families of active duty
military people, who are on remote tours (we have 3 different ones in
my town for the National Guard/Reservists overseas). If the families
are in the dark to that extent, then they would join a group with
other spouses and families for the soldiers sent to Iraq/Afghanistan.
What a boring idea.
Actually an episode based on that idea, or even a series, could be
awesome. Like the episode "Lower Decks" on Star Trek: The Next
Generation. A look at the characters and the world we've seen before
in the series, but from an entirely different persepctive.
There was also a certain element of this in "The Unit" where one saw
the military unit in the field as well as at home, and the families
dealing with things while they were away.
There was also an "Army Wives" series on lifetime I think, with
Catherine Bell.
So an episode or series with that element wouldn't be out of the
question. Or bringing those elements into the SGU series itself.
There was also an episode (maybe a 2-parter) on M.A.S.H. where the
families got together. We never saw the actual event, but the letters
they sent relating how it went were read aloud.

Emily Young and Mrs. Armstrong do know about Destiny, so I would like to see
a support group set up for them and for any other Destiny crew relatives who
know the truth. I believe that Emily should be getting emotional support
from someone other than that rat Telford!
Another suggestion: Have Scott and or Chloe visit Emily to keep her updated
on her husband's activities on the Destiny, such as Young pulling Scott out
of an ice crevice about a month ago. (IMHO, Emily deserves to know about her
husband's GOOD side, not just about his adulterous activities).

Might Bush have intigated the war against Iraq to provide cover for the
Stargate program?

For all we know, Destiny family members are socializing with each other off

Y'know, it is only a TV show.....no really.
