Since the doc was able to manipulate Borg assimilation nanoprobes to cure
Harry's disease and destroy Species 8472, doesn't it make sense that this
knowledge would lead to using the same nanoprobes to create a vaccine for Borg
assimilation, and even perhaps inject some of them back into the Borg to
scramble their brains???

I reside in a country which was somewhat upside down last week, so missed
the discussion which resulted in the decision to omit spoiler space for the
season premiere of Voyager. I formerly protest this decision!

Regards from another country,

Neran (who doesn't mean to pick on this one poster--too many are guilty)

Sure, but that would require a type of story continuity, right?
Logically, the Borg are now dead. Assimilation was how they survived
and adapted. Give out the vaccine to the entire galaxy, and beat the
living shit out of the borg. But, no. That'll never happen.

Another error of that episode. The Borg do NOT survive and adapt
through assimilation. The Borg didn't assimilate those hand phasers to
survive the attacks. They sacrificed a Borg to learn the frequency and
then survive the next assault. Recent Borg ventures (FC, Voyager) have
completely rewritten the Borg we knew from TNG. Even in "Descent" at
least they weren't the normal Borg.
