As "Voyager" nears the end of its run, and the possibility of a
homecoming remains ever present, one key question remains unanswered.
Should her Captain, Kathryn Janeway, be held accountable for the choices
that she made in the Delta Quadrant? Are violations of the Prime
Directive excusable because of good intentions, or because of their
extenuating circumstances? How disparate are her actions from those of
Kirk, Picard and Sisko?

Should Captain Janeway be hailed as a hero....or a criminal?

Over the next month, the Trek Nation will be running an extended feature
- The Court Martial of Captain Kathryn Janeway - a mock trial,
designed to answer some of these questions. The prosecution and defence
will be made up of fan writers, and the jury will be you, the readers.

Theres never been a better time to look back and examine the events of
Voyagers run. Each week, a new writer will put forward their case, but
it will be up to you to decide, in a poll that will run after all the
articles have been published.

Read the articles, assimilate the information, and then vote wisely. The
fate of Voyagers Captain rests in your hands.

Yes

Are violations of the Prime

Kirk and Sisko are heroes; Picard is a sniveling traitor and should be
executed; Janeway should be hunted down and killed in every reality.

Criminal.

As the article is 13 years old, what was the verdict?

I think it would have been important to note that this article was written
for the resumption of the final season's new episodes after hiatus. She
must have been executed by now.

The prosecution's case seems to be missing.

If killing people to replace them with exact duplicates was illegal,
transporter operators would be in trouble.

You should be able to reach them from the link in the other cases.

I thought she was a Admiral somewhere along the line? Or maybe I'm
mis-remembering one of those episodes that jumped into a possible future.

Not really relevant any more - JJ Abrams has killed off that entire
timeline completely with his silly pretend Star Trek movies. :-(

It's relevant to this thread, and Abrams isn't.

The point was that what happened / happens to Janeway has become
completely irrelevant to the majority of people because she is no longer
part of current messed up "Star Trek" franchise. That whole timeline has
been killed off - Janway (and real "Star Trek") no longer exists or may
not ever got lost.

keep posting followups and won't shut the fuck up.

As long as I remember, I will ignore the idiot, but it is difficult to
remember all the names. Unfortunately there's not actually any filter /
killfile on this version of the NewsWatcher newsgroup reader application
and newer ones don't work on my ageing computer. Other newsreader
applications I've tried are either (more) buggy or horrible to use.
