Can someone provide a list & timeline of all of Dax's previous hosts along with
any relevant facts.

Thanks.

Dax's hosts were Lela, Tobin, Emony, Audrid, Torias, Joran, Curzon, Jadzia,
and Ezri.

Lela was a legislator and the first woman to serve on the Trill Council.
She had a son named Ahjess. (possibly lived in the middle of the 21st
century)

Tobin was a scientist. He had a child named Raifi that was difficult.
Tobin was very shy. He had expertise in phase coil converters, and worked
on a new proof of Fermat's last theorem. He was also a botanist, and met
noted Cardassian poet Iloja of Prim while visiting Vulcan.

Emony was a professional gymnast. She was on Earth in 2245 to judge a
gymnastics competition and had a romance with the Enterprise's Dr. Leonard
McCoy while he was a student in Mississippi.

Audrid was head of the Trill symbiosis commission. She had two children,
one of whom was a daughter named Neema, and died in 2284.

Torias was killed in a shuttle accident within a year of being joined
(official records show his death as stardate 8615.2-- six months after his
actual death (2285)). He was married to Nilani Kahn, a joined Trill, whom
Jadzia later met as Lenara Kahn.

Joran was a musician and composer. His original last name was Belar. His
body rejected the Dax symbiont six months after joining in 2285. The Trill
symbiosis Commission altered records to say that he had never been joined,
and that he had been killed after murdering a doctor who recommended he be
dropped from the initiate program, and memories of Joran were erased from
the Dax symbiont until they were recovered by Jadzia in 2371.

Curzon was a diplomat. He served as a Federation mediator on Klaestron IV
during a civil war in the 2330's. While there, he became friends with
General Ardelon Tandro and his wife Enina, who Curzon had an affair with.
The Dax symbiont was later charged with his murder, but the charges were
dropped when Enina testified Curzon had been in her bed at the time. He was
once thrown out of the Barros Inn for setting fire to the place, and was
late for his 100th birthday party. He met Benjamin Sisko at Palios Station.
They served together aboard the USS Livingston. He was friends with a
starfleet officer turned Maquis Calvin Hudson. Curzon was Jadzia's field
docent and recommended she be dropped from the initiate program, saying she
lacked a sense of purpose. The real reason was that he had fallen in love
with Jadzia and almost resigned from the guilt. When Jadzia later
re-applied and did succeed in the initiate program, she asked to become the
next host to the Dax symbiont, and Curzon did not object. Curzon was fond
of the Ferengi game Tongo. Curzon died on Risa, while making love to
Arandis, who called it "death by jamaharon."

I assume you don't need any info on Jadzia or Ezri. :> I hope that
helped!:>

It was in Trials and Tribblations. Dax and Sisko were on the bridge, and Kirk
called McCoy up. Dax recognised him and then told Sisko that Eminy had met McCoy
when she was on Earth, and knew even then that he was destined to be a doctor.
"He had the hands of a surgeon."

And Verad, who was joined very briefly when he stole the Dax symbiont from
Jadzia in 'Invasive Procedures'.

I thought Verad didn't count because he wasn't joined long enough for
permanent connection to be made. I know it's not canon, but the ST
encyclopaedia doesn't list Verad among her hosts, just has a note in the
section on Jadzia.

I don't think Verad was counted as an 'official' host. But after Dax was
returned to her, Jadzia said she remembered everything he ever thought and did
- "I guess he'll always be a part of me" - and then never mentioned him again.
It might have been nice if they'd had Verad's personality return for the
zhian'tara ritual in 'Facets'; I'd have liked to see Jadzia able to talk with
him under better circumstances and finally be able to forgive him for what he
did.

What about the Dax that was in Star Trek VI ? When chekov had the gravity
boots and Dax's feet were all messed up? Was that an actual Dax sibiant?

There was no Dax in ST 6. There was a Trill woman, who would be of the
same *species* as Dax's hosts, but she wasn't a Dax host. (She may have
been joined, but there was no dialogue to indicate either way.)

How about the Trill that doctor Beverly Crusher fell in love with on NG. It
had no spots and had a klingon looking forehead, as did the girl trill that
took over the host.

That would be what we technicians refer to as a 'mistake'. (Actually, it
was just that Terry Farrel looked terrible in that makeup, so they
designed the spotty look for her.)

Actually, the male character in ST 6 (who was involved with the boots) *was*
named Dax. The symbiont's certainly old enough for him to have been a Dax host,
but the DS9 timeline says that either Emony or Audrid were the hosts at this
time. Hmmm... another 'lost' host waiting to be discovered, Ezri..? :)

Yeah, but that Dax wasn't a Trill--remember the large webbed feet that
ruled out the boots as being his?

So does this mean that the symbiont doesn't have to go into a Trill, or does it mean
that the ST6 character was just a coincidence?

I'd have to say that the name was just a coincidence.

I don't know the episode name, but when we are first introduced to the
Trill/symbiote species on TNG, when the Trill negotiator dies, the
symbiote was temporarily placed in Riker. IIRC, it caused all sorts
of health problems for Riker which were mediated by the good Doctor
Crusher. As well, rather than the "blending" of personalities that
seems to take place when a symbiote is implanted in a Trill, Riker's
personality seemed to be completely subsumed by the symbiote.

We've already seen two variants on the Trill species (I'm scrabbling for
continuity here and supposing that there are different races on Trill capable
of hosting symbionts; the bumpy headed TNG type, and the spotty DS9 type.)
Maybe this is a third..? :)

That Dax was merely an alien crewmember with the same name, and had
nothing to do with the symbiont Dax.
Why can't STAR TREK writers make up new names? I could sit here all day
and make up names for aliens and never run out of ideas.

Curzon was the Dax host during the time of ST 6 because Curzon Dax
helped negotiate the Khitomer Accords.
