The word, "shit" has been officially bleeped out by Comedy Central in
the Ike's Wee Wee episode. I just saw the 2 AM late Saturday/early
Sunday showing and it is now bleeped out. For those of you like myself
who did tape this episode this past Wednesday night at 10 PM have now
got an ultra-rare version of this episode. When this episode comes to
video someday, expect the word to be bleeped there too so hold on your
uncensored copy of Ike's Wee Wee. Also, Ike's Wee Wee is now closed
captioned which it wasn't this past Wednesday night and the word "shit"
was also censored in the captions too.

Who gives a "shit"?

Real South Park fans do give a shit when it comes to Comedy Central's
last-minute censorship of episodes like Ike's Wee Wee or the "dirty Jew"
bit from the Death episode whih they bleeped as well. If they're going
to bleep stuff out then the show shouldn't be rated TV-MA. Shows like
The Larry Sanders Show on HBO are also rated TV-MA but at least they
keep the "f---" and "s----" words in there.

I wouldn't necessarily jump to this conclusion (although it's still very
plausible). Remember that the "Kyle's mom is a dirty Jew" line was
likely censored because it's one of those topics about which people tend
to get very touchy [1][2], whereas the "bullshit" line was censored
because it's a special word.

Because of the two different reasons for censoring, they may very well
come to a different conclusion when releasing it on video.

[1] Religion, sexuality, ethnicity, etc.
[2] Personally, I think people get way _too_ touchy about such things.
If Trey and Matt want to poke fun at bisexual atheist geeks [3],
more power to 'em.
[3] Me.

I still wouldn't count on "shit" being said in a possible home video
release of Ike's Wee Wee in the future because I believe that whoever
was in charge of bleeping out the swear words in post-production forgot
to bleep out the word "shit" in "bullshit" when the episode was finally
sent over to Comedy Central for airing. Comedy Central probably didn't
even check the episode out before they aired it. When they had noticed
the word "shit" being said during the 10 PM ET Wednesday night
broadcast, the channel panicked and rushed to drop the audio out on the
word "shit" for the 10 PM PT and 1 AM ET/PT showings that same evening
leaving nothing but silent dead air instead of the usual bleep you hear
and that is why the West Coast (unless those there had a satellite dish
that picked up the East Coast feed) didn't get to hear the word "shit".
Before the episode reaired on Saturday night, they had whoever puts in
the bleeps in post-production come in on either Thursday or Friday and
add the bleep over the word "shit" where it can now be heard since the
10 PM showing this past Saturday night. This is my theory of what
happened.

Yea I find it hard to break the habit myself, after years of posting to
"less liberal" newsgroups and having to self censor myself <shuddering at
the thought>

But lo! then came alt.tv.southpark! where all inhibitions are set aside and
people can let loose with a fluryy of cuss words that would make your
average marine cringe! Man I love this show!. ;-)

You can say fuck and shit, this is the alt news hierarchy. :-)

There's only one reason why I say fuck and shit...people do!

If you don't fuck, shit!

If you don't shit, fuck!

Just take two asprins and fuck me in the morning.
