Season Three episode one - Mr.Ruggerio's neightbourhood.

One of the surveillance cops says this while "surveilling" Adrianna La
Serva at the tennis courts. What exactly did he mean by this?

I know it's a book/film, but I have not read/seen it, could someone
explain the reference?

Roughly translated, it means "GOD, I would *love* to fuck her brains out..."

"How Green Was My Valley" is a movie set in a Welsh mining town starring
Roddy McDowell, Maureen O'Hara, Walter Pidgeon, and others and made by John
Ford (who was so famous for his John Wayne westerns). It was a blockbuster
of its time and showed how at the start of the 20th century Welsh mining
life changed from the point of view of the youngest boy in a large mining
family (McDowell). Won Oscars including Best Picture. Based on a novel by
Richard Llewelyn.
One of the great American movies of all time.

It's just an expression. It's an example of great writing and possibly
David Chase's homage to the movie.

In a later scene the same guy remarks:

"Sweet mother of jesus!! Look at her today."

That is obviously just an expression. Since "How Green Was My Valley"
is a book/
film, I thought that maybe there was some clever reference. I see now
that it was just an expression in a similar vein to the aforemetioned
expression.

Just caught this the other day. For me she's a gorgeous red head and maybe had the Celtic look, hence, how green is/was my valley.
