NY POST/PAGE SIX...
THE steamy, nude sex scenes Stanley Tucci and Edie Falco played nightly in
"Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune" didn't require great acting,
sources
say.
The two were so passionate for each other offstage that it wrecked Tucci's
marriage.
The actor, 43, and his wife, Kate, have 3-year-old twins, a boy, Nicolo, and
a
girl, Isabel, as well as a 1-year-old daughter. But Tucci, who is in Arizona
making a movie, has split from his wife, his spokesman Stephen Huvane
confirmed.
"He remains totally devoted to his children. Beyond that he is not going to
comment," Huvane told PAGE SIX.
Kate - who has two teenage children from her first husband, Campbell Scott,
the
son of the late great George C. Scott and Colleen Dewhurst - offered to try
to
save the marriage. But a source said that Tucci "is not interested in
counseling."
Brooklyn-born Falco, 39, who is waiting to start work on her last season
playing James Gandolfini's wife Carmela on "The Sopranos," is single. She
was
excited to work with Tucci, a fellow graduate of SUNY Purchase, even before
"Frankie & Johnny" opened on Broadway.
"Stanley graduated Purchase before I got there, but he was the one who
everyone
talked about - the cool, idol type of guy," she told one reporter last year.
"Every production that he did at school was somewhat mythical, so the whole
idea that I'm getting to work with him now is crazy good fortune." Falco's
represenative had no comment.
Tucci and Falco had a five-month run in the hit revival of the Terence
McNally
play before they were replaced last December by Joe Pantoliano and Rosie
Perez.
Neighbors in the horsy country of Wilton, Conn., will miss the versatile
Tucci,
who had a breakthrough in 1996 with "Big Night," which he co-wrote and
co-directed.

What, is Wilton, Conn. being overrun with horses? Are there wild herds roaming
the countryside? Is there a dog food factory in town?

Why just naughty Edie? Why not naughty Tucci?

Him too. But it's our Edie! One almost expects it from a male actor, but
Edie didn't seem to be the homewrecking type (I'm not sure why I figured
that). He probably led the seduction.
Don't take the bait! Oops, too late.

I thought she was married.. ? Was she engaged at some point? I REALLY
have in my head she was out of the singles pool...
hrm...

She is very single and has gone on record as stating that she will never
marry. Rumor has it that she's a libertine.

Unfortunately, what a lot of women find out in a case like this is, all
they've gotten is.....a man who runs around on his wife. How could she
ever trust him to be true to HER?
Years ago, as a teen, I used to eavesdrop on my mother and her friends
gossiping at their coffee klatches, and I'd hear them say, "If he'll
run around WITH you, he'll run around ON you." I thought, "Huh??" As an
adult, I've noticed that, whereas this is not true in EVERY case, there
is a lot of truth to it. A lot.
Jane
Cliff is a good guy even if he and I don't always agree about things, and
it wasn't bait.

From what I hear, Edie gets around, but I have no idea who seduced whom.
Last I knew, which was only a couple months ago, she was living with Eric
Mendelsohn in TriBeCa. She'd known him since their college years ay
SUNY-Purchase. It was his dog who'd gotten loose on her and jumped into
the Hudson while she was walking it with her dog earlier this year in
TriBeCa. She was all spazzy about it. I remember it making the
entertainment news on a slow news day.
Maybe she'd been attracted to and seeing Tucci since Sept of 2002 when
she appeared with him in a little piece by, of all people, Eric
Mendelsohn, called "9-19" for a three-day 9-11 benefit called _Brave New
World_.
Here's what he looks like.

Dog Walked by Edie Falco Jumps in River
Jan 11, 2:35 PM (ET)
NEW YORK (AP) - A dog that tumbled into the Hudson River was rescued
after "The Sopranos" star Edie Falco flagged down a passer-by to call
911.
Falco was walking the dog, a mixed breed named Gracie who belongs to a
friend, on Friday when the dog broke free and jumped a fence, falling
into the river.
"It was a nightmare," Falco told the New York Post. "I looked down and it
was about a 15-foot drop into the water. The dog quickly disappeared
under the pier."
Gracie treaded water for about 20 minutes before a police officer and two
emergency workers pulled her to safety by wading into the water and
hooking her collar with a 12-foot pole.
Falco, who plays Carmela Soprano on the HBO mob drama, also was walking
her own dog, a Labrador named Marlie.

Never married. Never engaged. She's a pretty free-swinging single New
Yorker. Completely non-traditional.
Liberite is the stuff that can kill Superman. The word you're looking for is
"liberian", Schopenauer.

Go to Sopranos.com and look at her interview. Read between the lines.
[the word is "libertine"]

First of all, Google and awareness are your friends. Second of all, "best
friends" doesn't mean "not sleeping together" and "not in love" or
"platonic."

Yes, perhaps, but I was having a bit of a giggle.

LOL! *All* about it, Cliff? ;p
