to Italians, a bird in the house is a bad omen...usually of impending death

And while this bird was in the window, not the house, it was enough to give
Christopher "the willies"

(not my explanation, but the explanation of Bo Deedle <sp?>, a reputedly
"connected" commentater on Imus)

Bo Ditel is an ex-NYC Cop, he was famous for breaking the case of some
druggies who robbed a church and in the process beat up and raped a nun.
They also cut crosses in the nuns flesh after they were finished.

Bo was friend's with connected guys who he grew up with and they were giving
him information on the crime to catch the guilty parties.

his character

I think this is a symbol of Christopher's paranoia, he always thinks something
is going to go wrong.

So even though the bird wasn't in the house, it was close enough for Chrissy to
panic.

Just like he freaked out over the football spreads, when he should have played
it cool, and lost a ton of money.

He's always been nervous about his "position" in the family, in season 2 he was
trying to write a script, maybe to get out of the family, then T "pulled him
back in."

In Literature, a black bird or crow usually symbolizes death or dying. It
can also represent the spirit of a person....could it be the spirit/ghost of
Pussy? Isn't Chris taking his place in the family???

just a thought.......

Lets see, last time we saw him in a mirror,
this time in a window...

He was certainly an odd bird. A ratty looking pidgeon
standing there with his head up watching everything that
was going on underground.

Ok, a rat, a pigeon, very dead, stuffed...
hmmmm...

My take on this is -- The bird was Christopher's soul, and it departed when
he burned the saint. ph
