Is anyone's Italian good enough to get a sense of the Italian rapper's
song over the closing credits? I heard "fior'" throughout the song &
"innamorata" in the first verse. Sounds like Angie & Pussy.

Also, in the scenes from the next episode, Tony asks Janice what right
she had to take out a loan on this "Livia's" house. I think the fur will
be flying.

My Italian could use some polishing up, but the rapper was saying "Piove"
(sp?) which means "it is raining". I didn't get all of what he was saying,
but he kept repeating "It's raining......Listen to how it's raining" etc
etc. I'll listen some more and see what else I can come up with. Nothing is
an accident in this show.....maybe it refers to that old expression "when it
rains, it pours", referring to everything falling apart around Tony, i.e.
his marriage, his relationship with his mother and uncle, Chris, Paulie, and
Pussy's recent behavior, Melfi not taking him back as a patient, etc etc.
Annalisa and Melfi said it best.....Tony is his own worst enemy!

I really like those Italian Pop songs.....wonder if they'll make it onto a
Sopranos Soundtrack II.

It was the 17th episode.

Yo Soprano-philes!

Here are the lyrics to that Italian rap song that was playing during the end
credits of Episode 4. Couldn't find the artist info though. Any ideas? Seems
to be all about rain and how hard it's coming down. Anyone care to
translate? Here is where i found it, and the lyrics follow the site

Piove

Piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių,
piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių.
Hai visto come piove, senti come viene gių
e adesso guardati sei tutta bagnata
e piove madonna come piove
Piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių,
piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių.
e tu diventi grande e ti fai forte
e piove madonna come piove
senti senti come piove
senti le gocce battere sulla tua testa.
Piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių,
piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių.
Piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių,
piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove senti come viene gių.
Piove, senti come piove,
madonna come piove
senti come viene gių! Uh!

Oops on that last post....

I meant to add, that I was wondering what exactly he said. Sometimes I can't
figure out what's being said. Sure wish I could figure out how to use the
closed cap option.

Best,

Lili

If I were an Italian teacher, you would receive half credit. :-) Sempre
means "always" but per sempre means forever.

Oh, thanks. Now back to the lyrics.

Now that I think about it, "forever" is "sempre" isn't it, as in "Si,
per sempre"?

I really liked this song and also hope it makes it to a soundtrack.

no problem, I'd really like to know the name of that other song. They only played about 10 seconds of it, but it
sounded pretty good.

Here's a quick translation from my Italian/Austrian daughter-in-law:

It's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down
it's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down

Did you see how its raining, listen how its coming down
you who said that it's not raining anymore
but now you would never again fall in love
and now look at you you are all wet

And its raining, mother of god, how it's raining
on your head and the air is being refreshed
and it will keep on raining until the earth
will be filled up again
and then it will clear up again

It's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down
it's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down

Listen to the raindrops beating on the roof
listen to the noise as you are turning in bed
it will be born again, it is being born/renewed right now
listen to the rain and the grain is ripening
and you are getting bigger, and you are growing stronger
and those leaves that appeared dead
will adorn the branches once again
and springtime is knocking at your door
and it's raining, mother of god how its raining
before the sun returns for a celebration

Listen, listen how it's raining
listen to the raindrops beating on your head
it's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down
it's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down
it's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down
it's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining, listen how its coming down
And you thought your little plants
had dried up and will no longer grow
you waited a little, but listen how it's raining now
on your head, listen how it's coming down
It wasn't you who had resigned herself
and who was saying that she would never again fall in love
the earth sometimes must be watered with tears
but then you will see, the rain will return
it's raining, listen to it raining,
mother of god how it's raining
listen how it's coming down, Ugh!
