So jist exactly what did , JANICE, say when tony asked and paid 3 grand to
find out about ralphies sex habbits ?

Did she say "Bottoms from the top" or "Volloms from the top"

Or something entirely different i have watched it over and over on tape and
cannot fiogure it out ...

In any case , whatever it said ... what does it mean ? I have never heard
of this term AND i have heard about some weird perverted sex shit and never
that ... is it GAY stuff.. (no offense) just wondering what they said and
what it is ...

Sometime back I posted something, don't remember what, and somebody
replied asking me if I "bottomed from the top." I replied telling him
that I didn't know what he was talking about. At the time I even
remember it on the program.

When I saw the episode a second time I realized the question put to me
was from "Sopranos," and I too played it a couple of times.

It's "bottoms from the top," and what I *think* it means is that
Ralphie can't come just from being sexually aroused, his brain
controls his sex acts. He uses women to get him hot by doing
something painful to him, and he needs a lot of this weird foreplay,
but can't for some reason allow women to satisfy him, or have the
satisfaction of knowing they satisfied him. He probably withdraws and
then finishes himself. Whether he satisfies the women or not, I don't
know. If he does, it isn't the regular way.

I'm not an expert or even knowledgeable on the subject - sa maybe
somebody else out there knows for sure.

When Janice told Tony that remark, Tony didn't know what she was
talking about either.

The proper term is to say that a person "Tops from the bottom" which means
that while they pretend to be the submissive half of a D/S relationship,
they are actually in control.

Now I'm really confused. But thanks for trying.......maybe if I knew
what a D/S relationship was.....? (and to show how dumb I really am,
I don't know what "Carpe noctem" means either).

martha :)

D/S, dominant and submissive. A subset of 'BDSM' which stands for Bondage
and discipline, dominance and submission and sado-masochism. Carpe noctem
is a play on the Latin carpe diem. Carpe diem means "pluck(seize) the day"
and was made popular in the movie "The Dead Poets Society". Carpe noctem
would mean "pluck (seize) the night". While we are at it 'Malum Regnat'
means evil rules.

Aha, thank you. I know what you mean now. When I was trying to
figure out what Ralphie's problem was, I applied the "bottom" and
"top" to Ralphie, thinking that his crotch area was his bottom, and
his brain was his top. It worked for me :)

Missed the Dead Poets movie. Not much for movies. In my house,
Sopranos regnat.

Thanks again,
martha

She said that he "Bottoms from the Top." What she meant was that it was
important to him to act tough like he was in charge but he really was a
submissive person, that he wanted to be humiliated and dominated but he
wanted to do it while acting like he was the dominant one.

What I thought was interesting in the way that she said it was that she
sounded like someone with "professional" experience of sex, like she'd been
a prostitute at some point.
