A number of years ago, there was a skit which featured "President Regan" and
a member of the press discussing "Yassir Arafat" in the context of the Abbot
and Costello "Who's on First routine". One of the lines in particular
was,.... "There's that Yassir fellow again".

I have been searching high and low for a transcript of this skit and cannot
find it. If anyone has seen this and can point me in the right direction, I
sure would appreciate it.

Thanks

Bill

That was on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Carson played Reagan,
and his press secretary was briefing him on stuff. I remember it from
the 25th anniversary special, vaguely; they were talking about state
scretary James Watt at the Y:

"He's the Secretary of State."

"Watt."

"I said the secretary of state."

"Watt. His name is James Watt. You have a meeting with him at the Y."

"Where?"

"Y."

Then they had the ditty with "can you tell me his first name?"
"Yassir."...and all that. But anyway it was a Tonight Show skit, classic
Carson, so if you want a transcript make sure you're in the right
ballpark.

That was not SNL.That was on a Tonight Show episode with Johnny
Carson,circa 1984 or 85.Johnny played Ronald Reagan,and one of
the shows writers played Reagans chief of staff. That skit was great,
Carson did a very good Reagan impersonation.I used to have that
skit on tape, but it`s long gone. They used to rerun that skit when Carson
did his anniversary shows once a year, but those shows ended when
Carson retired.
