This morning while getting ready for work I had MTV on, and they
showed a video of Conan O'Brien, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, Jack
Black, and Dana Carvey jamming with Lou Reed on "Walk on the Wild
Side". It was taken from that "Night of Too Many Stars" special. It
was pretty funny, with Conan busting out the "shamananaHIIII"s, Adam
contributing some "shabby doobie dabba"s, Jack Black rocking out as
only he can, Dana Carvey banging away at the drums, and Jimmy Fallon
being overshadowed by everyone else. I'm really pissed that I can't
see the actual special, but keep an eye out on MTV if you want to see
the video.

I saw that too, which is odd considering how rarely I turn on MTV.

I think it woulda been better without Sandler and (particularly)
Fallon--Conan and Jables were funny without trying too hard or being
stupid, and they actually sang the darn song.

Conan seemed to slur over the "even when she was giving head" line. :)

You know, I hate it when people say that too. I will say I watch a lot
of Vh1 classic and MTV2. I only stop on MTV when I flip to a show or
video that looks interesting, whereas the other stations I'll leave on
as background. Not that it matters.

BTW, it's spelled "anti-Semitic." My kike girlfriend taught me that.

Well, compared to everyone else, he just didn't seem to be doing
anything that funny. I think Jimmy definitely has talent, he just
seemed to be the weak link in this particular gathering of comedians.

So you laugh when people make fun of Jews? I bet you think it's funny that Jews
were put in ovens too. You disgust me.

Something I've always wondered about the term "anti-semitic"

This term should apply when a person slanders either a Jew or an Arab, but
when someone says "that dirty Arab" or whatever, no one says it's
anti-semitic. In my experience, people rarely defend Arabs, and when they
do, they don't use this term. I have heard the term "anti-semitic" probably
200 times in my life, and I cannot recall once where it was used in
conjunction with an anti-arab sentiment.

My question, why don't people just say that something is "anti-Jewish" if
that's what they mean?

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=anti-semitic

an暗i-Sem搏te
One who discriminates against or who is hostile toward or prejudiced
against Jews.

anti-Se搶itic
Anti-Semitism \An`ti-Sem"i*tism\, n. Opposition to, or hatred of, Semites,
esp. Jews

I suppose people don't use it to describe anti-Arab statements because
that's not what it means to most people.
It's like the whole flammable/inflammable thing.

BTW, do you hear a lot of people say "that dirty Arab"?
Call a person who says that whatever you want: anti-Semitic, anti-Arab,
racist, or just a stupid asshole.
Labelling them differently doesn't change what they are.

Here's the definition for "semite"

A member of a group of Semitic-speaking peoples of the Near East and
northern Africa, including the Arabs, Arameans, Babylonians, Carthaginians,
Ethiopians, Hebrews, and Phoenicians.

> BTW, do you hear a lot of people say "that dirty Arab"?

How many movies have you seen where Arabs were the bad guys - vicious,
fanatical, untrustworthy - that were made in the 70's, 80's and 90's. I've
seen a lot of them channel surfing. I don't know of anyone who said those
movies were anti-semitic. No one defended them and few even commented that
there was a stereotype in the making. If even 1/10 of those movies featured
vicious, fanatical, untrustworthy Jews, the culture police would be all over
it, and yes, that term would be heavily used.

You'd better write all the English dictionaries of the world, then, and tell
them that their definition for "anti-semite" sucks.
Let us know how that goes.
You'll probably never get those filthy Phoenicians to see it your way
though, they're pretty stupid.
I mean how stupid do you have to be to lose your whole civilization.

Thats what we at Yale University refer to as a "Hugh Delony". For example, "You
really Hugh Delony'd that up". Our goal at Yale is to get the words FUCK,
RETARDED, DISABLED, SHIT, DEFECTIVE,TOILET PAPER, and about 1900 other words
and phrases replaced with HUGH DELONY in everyones vocabulary.
Eventually, our language will mutate into 8 words. 6 of them from the old
school way and HUGH DELONY. Think of the time we will save. It will only better
our civilization as a whole. Don't you agree? Does a bear Hugh Delony in the
woods? I think he does.
