Whatever happened to ......Melanie Chartov? She was on SNL in the 1982-84
era. Anybody know what other TV or movie parts she has done since then?

I think Melanie Chartoff was NOT on SNL, but on "Fridays," which also
featured Michael Richards, on ABC. She was a regular on...oh, what the
hell's the name of that show about a high school kid that was on Fox on
Sunday nights a few years ago? She played the principal.

I may be mistaken, but I think you have your shows confused. Melanie
Chartoff was a cast member of ABC's "Fridays" which lasted for 3
seasons in the early 1980's. I don't recall her ever appearing on
SNL, but I could be wrong...

Serpas III can you confirm this??

BTW A behind the scenes look at the night Andy Kaufman hosted
"Fridays" can be found at The Andy Kaufman Home Page. Stop by and
check it out.

Melanie Chartoff was NOT on SNL.

She was on ABC's rip off of it FRIDAYS. FRIDAYS also featured
MICHAEL RICHARDS of SEINFELD.

Chartoff also appeared a couple of years ago as the principal on

And it was a hell of a lot earlier than 1982-84. More like 1979-80.

Melanie Chartoff was on FRIDAYS, not SNL. She was the principal on
"Parker Lewis Can't Lose" and a voice on "Rugrats" as well. She was
not on SNL.

I remember seeing her do a couple of guest spots on "Newhart," as a marriage
counselor who advises Michael and Stephanie to stop seeing one another.

Melanie Chartoff also performs the voice of Tommy Pickles' mother,
Deedee, on the Nickelodeon cartoon show "Rugrats."

Melanie Chartoff was on _Fridays_, not SNL. She later played the
sex-starved principal on _Parker Lewis Can't Lose_ (was that the title,
hardly ever watched it).

I never remember her on SNL. I do know that the was on ABC's Fridays
during the late 70's and early 80's. She used to anchor their version of
the "fake news."

I thought Melanie Chartoff was on Fridays. Is it the same one from
Parker Lewis and a voice on Rugrats?

Chartoff was Miss Musso on Fox's "Parker Lewis," starring Corin Nemec,
Maia Brewton ("Adventures in Babysitting") and later John Pinette ("Vinnie
and Bobby" starring Matt LeBlanc, "Grudge Match"). USA Network no longer
carries the reruns. "Parker Lewis" was known for its liberal use of sight
gags, camera tricks, sound effects, and wacko plots, later imitated on
shows like "Eerie, Indiana" and "Adventures of Pete & Pete."
Other "Fridays" cast members (not a complete list)--
\Maryedith Burrell ("Throb" starring Diane Canova and Jane Leeves)
\Ms. Brandis Kemp
\Michael Richards ("Seinfeld")
\Larry David (co-creator of "Seinfeld," he was the "Fridays" pharmacist)
\Darrell Igus (he was the "Rastafarian Chef"...no no no no nooooo)
\Mark Blankfield ("The Incredible Shrinking Woman")
\Rich Hall ("Fridays" sequel HBO's "Not Necessarily The News," where he
introduced "Sniglets," and of course SNL)
\Jack Burns (of Burns & Schreiber, Vince of the Dept. of Transportation
"Crash Dummies")
I'm missing two cast members. Also, one of the above later turned up on
the British TV sketch show "Assaulted Nuts," starring Gail Matthius (I
think), Wayne E. Knight ("Seinfeld") and some comedianne named Emma
Thompson who's making obscure English movies, I read somewhere.

One minor correction, Larry David did not play "The Pharmacist" - that
was Mark Blankfield. Many people forget the talented John Roarke when
recalling the cast of "Fridays." Roarke's dead-on impersonations were
one of the highlights of "Fridays" short three-year run.

Mark Blankfield
Maryedith Burrell
Melanie Chartoff
Larry David
Darrow Igus
Brandis Kemp
Bruce Mahler
Michael Richards
