Hi guys,
I posted not to long ago asking about a skit that had a romantic farting guy in
it. I had seen this skit many many years ago and loved it. I had originally
thought it was Steve Martin and Kirstie Allie, but many of you said that it was
in fact Kevin Kline and Julia Sweeney.
Well, I just finished watching the Kevin Kline, Julia Sweeney skit on a rerun
of SNL..... and IT'S NOT IT! There was no airport in the skit I saw, it only
took place in a fancy restaraunt... and I'm SURE it was Steve Martin.

Can ANYONE help me figure this out?!
Thank you,
Daniel

This skit was about a movie star, I'm pretty sure Kevin Kline played it. But I
think it might have been Victoria Jackson, not Julia. And there was an airport
in the sketch, they actually met on an airplane.

No it was Julia Sweeney. The skit was broadcast on May 15, 1993. But I dont
think it's in the CC version.

The sketch begins in an airport where they meet and ends when she gets off the
plane to meet her family. Julia Sweeney had a wig on. I've seen the sketch a
hundred times.
Try watching the entire sketch next time.

Ok, nobody seems to be catching on here. What I saw was STEVE MARTIN.... I am
SURE that this is not the skit I am trying to find because I watched the skit..
in it's entirety a couple of days ago on a rerun of SNL.
NOT KEVIN KLINE... so here's the question. Has Steve Martin EVER played a
character that farted alot.. not necessarily "romantic" but farted?
The skit I saw had typical grainy early 80's film, and was Steve Martin and
possibly Kirstie Allie.

Can anyone help me? And remember.... NOT KEVIN KLINE :)

Thank you,
Daniel

I vaguely remember a bit with Steve Martin as a waiter but it wasn't on SNL, I
believe it was on one of his TV specials.

I took less than a minute of searching the net and came up with this:

That was a short film called "The Absent Minded Waiter". And it was Teri Garr
and Buck Henry in it. It was a short film that had nothing to do with SNL.

Random personal experience with an SNL twist - I spent a weekend in the house
where they filmed The Big Chill, in Beaufort, South Carolina. They have a copy
of the movie script in a drawer in the tv room. Everything is there - the
refrigerator, the pier out in back, the gate and front porch etc. It's The Big
Chill house! But the interiors are different now... except the kitchen is
exactly the same as it was in the movie. So anyway... When Kevin Kline hosted
SNL, the SNL folks built AN EXACT REPLICA of the Big Chill house's kitchen for
a sketch. Spooky!!!
