Why would they want to continue Sliders without Jerry O'Connell? He is the
focus point of the show. When he leaves, 1/3 of the original cast will be
gone. If they continue with the show, the whole concept will have to
change and to me, it just seems pointless. It's like when they decided to
continue Airwolf without the original cast, or SeaQuest for that matter.

Why not just end the series gracefully at the end of season 4 and wrap up
as many loose ends as possible?

actually if he leaves then only 1/4 of the original cast remains
(Brown)
perhaps now is the time to get Benish!!!!!
What do you all think?

If Jerry O'Connell leaves, 3/4 of the original cast will be gone.
Remember, the professor is dead and Wade is lost in space somewhere. I
don't think the story line will be able to continue with only Rembrandt
left of the original group.

I asked the same question about Babylon 5. Of course both shows are
now floundering on cable.

Is Earth's Prime Professer really dead though. As i recall from a season Two
episodes there was some question as to wither or not our professer actually
slid.

Why does any show push for that last extra mile?
Mainly for three things: Fans, $$$ and Raitings

Frankly, I don't care if a season 5 comes along, as long as its nothing like
Season 3 with balliant Movie Rip offs here and there and cheesie Fox Network
sex appeal.
If you think about it if the Quinn and Colin leave (I'm guessing to their true
homeworld) Remmy is going to have to get back to Earth Prime anyway, Maggie,
I'm guessing is also going along for the ride 'cause her world is pretty dead.
And they'll probly pick up some more cast members, Wade might comback (although
that seems very doubtful, if she does its probly for only one episode anyway to
clear her out of the storyline). They'll probly have not wiped out the Kromaggs
completely with rogue bands who survive whatever is in store for thoes smelly
apes at the end of this season.
And of course there is the Timer, heck Remmy and Maggie might just want to
slide for fun if you think about it, I sure would!

another reason is the 80 episode mark....which if im not wrong is how
many eps they need to start selling video tapes...? which is fine by
me...:)
lets just hope they can have good stories along the way in season 5

I dunno, Armand - can you imagine anyone actually *paying* for a copy of 'The
Breeder' or 'Slither'? :-p

God, I hope they just don't make a Sliders Jr or something the way Fox is
making a Young Hercules based on the show only with kids in the cast. Now THAT
would be the final insult. Imagine if they went to a world where they got
turned into kid's versions of themselves (ala that Star Trek Next Gen episode)

Wouldn't that just turn your stomach?>And of course there is the Timer, heck

Remmy and Maggie might just want to

Why not make a show where the Timer just slides and people find it? Nahhhhh
don't even go there!

With the Sliders rumors and too many commercials during Star Trek, I'm
beginning to wonder if the Kromaggs are running the Sci-Fi Channel.
Next they'll probably change their name to the 113 Channel. :(

The sad fact is, Sliders had been renewed and will undoubtable continue. It
has been to date, the single highest rated programme on the Sci-Fi channel. I
also hate mayself a wee bit that no matter how bad it gets i will still watch,
and let's face it, it's gotten...whoa momma
