***** Where's the list of "second episodes"? *****
For those of you who ask "where's the 'second national run'
syndication schedule?", there is no more "second national run";
any station that shows a second (or more) syndicated episode
each night pays the syndicators for the rights (well, for the
rights to show its own commercials rather than the ones the
syndicators give them), which includes the rights to show
whatever episodes they want. You have to ask the local station
which episodes it is showing; some stations list their
syndicated episodes in "TV Guide".
STUFF for "Mom and Pop Art" (AABF15)
------------------------------------
Written by Al Jean
Directed by Steven Dean Moore
Special Guest Voice: Jasper Johns, Isabella Rossellini, Marcia Wallace
Also Starring: Pamela Hayden, Tress MacNeille, Maggie Roswell,
Karl Wiedergott
Blackboard: A TRAINED APE COULD NOT TEACH GYM

bomb as in "Dr. Strangelove" (repeat of AABF07)
Rating: TV-PG
Overseas Animation: Rough Draft
REVIEW: B - it's one of those "well, it's 'funny', but it's not one
for the 'best of "The Simpsons"' list", especially with
the "happy ending with a musical number" ending

DYNs
...Homer was supposed to start painting the garage on July 18, 1995?
...Homer's car has a "Smart & Sassy" bumper sticker - at least it did
before the bumper came off?
...apparently, the question "where does all of the money the family
makes?" has been answered, $68,000 at a time
...Jasper Johns only had 11 words, including "yoink"?
...at the art show, Bart is eating an entire wheel of (orange)
cheese?
...Homer draws by holding his pencil in his fist?
...Barney's drawing looks a lot like Serat's "A Sunday Afternoon on
the Island of La Grande Jatte"?
...the four-armed/legged man was wearing a jockstrap?
...Homer is not a fan of the magician Valentino (the one from "Magic's
Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed")?
...Milhouse has a "Krusty the Klown Show" garbage can?
MAGGIE ALERT
...Maggie falls when Marge and the kids appear from behind the house?
...in the last scene, Maggie is on the roof with a lifejacket?
GOOFS/FREEZE FRAME/WHATNOT
When the art dealer first appears at the Simpson house, Maggie is in
her crib, but then she appears with Marge, Bart, and Lisa.
Homer's eyes weren't visible in the dark like Marge's.
Andy Warhol's famous soup can painting was tomato soup, not split-pea
(with or without ham).

I think he at least does some of the deep European-accented characters, like
Senor Ding Dong or that Peter Lorre-sounding guy from Kidney Trouble. Last
night he was probably one of the European artists.
and it pissed me off that they cut it off yet again to show a preview of a
repeat for next weeks simpsons. I was really into the song.

I think Senor Ding Dong was Hank Azaria, he seems to handle the Latin type accents
I believe that he did some other cans, too.

Indeed he did, several are on display downstairs at MOMA in New York City,
including my favorite:

That's not what I meant. The first time he turned the lights off, you
couldn't see anybody's eyes, but when he turned the lights back on again,
his eyes were open, so I can only assume he kept his eyes open, at least
part of the time during that "first" dark scene.
