> i love the way bart calls his dad 'homer'
Well, that is his name....
i call my dad, "dad" don't know abuot you
obviously Bart calls his father Homer to indicate how he rarely feels any
respect or affection for him, or indeed alleigance to him as a son and
family member...however he clearly loves his mother as 'Mom' is a permanent
fixture...
i like the epsiode where Homer is sternly nagging baby Bart to address him
as Daddy but Bart wont comply...the same thing happens with baby Lisa much
to Homer's annoyed grunting
only when Homer puts Maggie to bed and leaves the room do we hear her utter
her first word 'Daddy'
now you dont get quality like that in the new episodes!

A great ending to a great episode in a great season.

Homer: Can you say Daddy?
Lisa: Homer.
Homer: No, sweetie. Daddy.
Lisa: [thinks for a second] Homer.
Homer: D'oh!
Now we get Ned building a theme park for his late wife and people getting high
off the fumes from a cracked gasoline pipe. Deep AND funny.
