"That 70'sShow" i think is extremley funny. In Fact i think its last few
episodes have been better than the last few simpsons(and a lot better tahn the
Hippie episode). THe show is getting low ratings but you guys should give it a
chance. I think its the best new show on tv, the writers are great!!! Give it a
try!

couldnt agree with you more...not. The writing is horrible, the jokes are
corny, and even when there is a funny idea, the writers screw it up
(ie..thekid on acid having to talk to his parents about borrowing the car
is a funny idea..the idiotic lines that come out of his parents' mouths
ruins the scene.) Im surprised this show ran two episodes past its trailer.

I don't usually like to post just to say "I agree," but... I agree!
That 70's Show is kicking the Simpsons' ass, plain and simple. Funny,
funny stuff. It had a slow start, but it's getting better every week.
If you're gonna sit through an episode of the Simpsons, you should at
least sit on your ass for another 30 minutes and watch That 70's Show.
You'll like it. Trust me.

Yes, everyone please watch THAT 70'S SHOW. I need this show to stay on
the air so I have a completely unwatchable buffer between taping THE
SIMPSONS and THE X-FILES.

Aaron, hoping FUTURAMA doesn't wind up in that spot

well, I saw the first episode and if thats what your referring to, I believe he
was smoking weed before talking to his parents about the car...the scene caused
a lot of controversy as I remember (network censors would like to believe
teenagers dont smoke up, I guess...)

I can't stand the show. Remember 'The Wonder Years'? That show was set in
the late '60s/early 70's, and you BELIEVED it was the late 60's/early 70's.
To me, the actors on That 70s Show look like exactly what they are: 90s
people dressed in 70s costumes. There's just no reality to the show. I
know it's a sitcom, but they try too hard to make fun of the 70s, and it
comes off pretty lame.

I have watched a few episodes of this new show, and I think it's kind of
funny.I would'nt say it is kicking the Simpson's ass,but it holds it's
own.If nothing else, the smoking pot in the basement in every episode is
funny. My older siblings used to smoke pot in our basement in the 70's,so
those scenes crack me up.I'll probably watch this show, only because it
is right after Simpsons,if it were on at any other time,I would not
watch it.

Well the Wonder Years was meant to be more of a comedy-documentry
on the times. That 70s Show is meant to make fun of the cliches from
the 70s and it does an excellent job. I was the same age as the actors
in the show during the 70s and they're doing a great job of making fun
of it. The acting is suberb, the writing fresh, but the best part is
Red and his wife (Debra Jo Rupp is awesome in everything) - they
portray some of the best parents I've ever seen on a sitcom.

I'd rather not. The 70's weren't funny then, and they aren't funny now.

That's exactly why they put it on that time slot!
When it moves (I hope I hope I hope) to another time slot let's see how it
does.

I don't even care how it does. They busted up a great line up! I just wish they
would move King of The Hill back or put on something good in that slot.

Although I kinda agree with you (or whoever said it) on the buffer. I have time
now to do dishes and get ready for Monday, etc.

Oh well.

But the point that was being made is that the scene wasn't funny --
like the rest of the show. And that redhead girl on there isn't nearly
as beautiful as everyone makes her out to be.

I've not yet seen That 70's Show, but I disagree with the above sentence.
Even though I was born about mid-decade, I've gotten an appreciation for the
decade from a social worker who did grow up during the decade. I went to his
place all the time; he watched "The Brady Bunch" faithfully, and has the
largest collection of disco records I've ever seen (many obscure and
unavilable on CD). Even if he was a bit cheesy sometimes, I've come to
understand and appreciate the cheese factor as kitsch and the
"just-enjoy-yourself" spirit the decade embodied. The Seventies can be quite
funny if you sit back and think "My GOD, we actually took that stuff
seriously?", even though I've developed an appreciation to not take the
seriousness seriously. Just putting in my two cents.

Here's an idea -- Show OFF @ 8:00, and put in King of the Hill at 8:30, then
That 70s Show, then they could have the fox people cut the X-Files into a
1/2 hr show!!

My parents wouldn't let me hang out with my friends in the basement because
my sister had habitually smoked pot down there. Basement = pot smoking. There
was no convincing her otherwise.

Good parents, but they MUST do something about the immigrant kid. He's
BY FAR the weakest link. And it would behoove them to watch a few
Wonder Years episodes to see how you're supposed to do those "young
teens exloring their feelings" scenes.

I've been able to watch about 5 minutes of it (which is more then I ever
gave Seinfeld, (Tool Time show whotever it is), and Third Rock.) And it
is utter crap.

No, I think Jackie (is that the dark girl?) is the weakest link; I hate
having to cringe every time she talks. Although recently she seems to have
become a shade less annoying. The *exchange student* (not immigrant) cracks me
up. As for the Wonder Years, that show made me puke, because IRL, a teenager
does not have an epiphany every thirty seconds. The gimmick of the
introspective voiceovers was just a way to expand eight minutes of action into
22.

Yea, the procuers seem to like taking big tall ok looking women and making them
out to be beautiful. Compared to the annoying brunette, who is totally hot,
she's not that great. Anyway, about the show, I think it's really really
funny. THat show is the best thing Fox has put on in years. I can totally
relate to this show. And even thought I hate to admit it, it has been funnier
than the Simpsons has recently. (Come on people like the Simpsons are the
funniest thing on TV now, if it was still 1994 you'd be right. They aren't
even the funniest thing on the NETWORK anymore)

Well, IRL, a teenager as annoying and egotistical as Kevin would have been
beaten to death several times by the end of the first season. :)

Ok, hold on! NO offense to the fans of other Fox comedies, but Simpsons
reruns that i've seen a thousand times still beat any attempt at comedy the
network has come up with. I usually watch that 70s show because it is in
between my two favorites :) :), but I don't think i would otherwise.
Speaking of comedy on fox...doesn't anyone else think that ally mcbeal is
not the slightest bit funny? I watched two whole times waiting for some
entertainment, but all i got was that whiny little self-absorbed anorexic...
