Voice of Homer Simpson Ready to
Van Gogh to July 28
By Michael Farkash
Dan Castellaneta, otherwise known as the voice of TV's
Homer Simpson, shows off his personal ensemble of
comic characters in Where Did Vincent Van Gogh?, a
solo show at the Acme Comedy Theatre.
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT ME?: In interviews,
Castellaneta said he hides his real personality behind
his many characters. Here's a chance to see the
unreal voice actor, live, and in person.
Castellaneta voices not only Homer on the Fox cartoon
series, but also Grandpa Simpson, Groundskeeper Willie
and Krusty the Klown.
In the 90-minute show, written and performed by
Castellaneta, the actor plays about 20 different
characters, including a ventrilioquist's dummy and a
Billie Holiday impersonator.
Acme Comedy Theatre is host to a group of stand-up
comics who develop material there much in the way the
Groundlings troupe does, offering sketch comedy
routines built around various themes.
The show runs 8 PM Wednesdays, ending July 28.
