I didn't find this in the FAQ, and this has been bothering me for a while:
How many different things does Homer say he's always wanted to be.
I can think of two specific cases:

In the monorail episode he claims he has always wanted to be a monorail
conductor, and Marge reminds him that his real lifelong ambition was to
<do something else, i forget>.

Also in a more recent episode, Homer claimed he's always wanted to own the
Jets (or maybe someother pro-football team) and Marge reminds him the his
lifelong ambition was to be on the Gong Show which he did in 1977 (or
something like that).

I would imagine that since I only started thinking about this recently,
there may have been many other times that this happened that I missed. Do
people know of more of Homers lifelong dreams, and are these already
listed somewhere?

"...run out on to a baseball field in the middle of a game, and you
did that last year!"

(of course, that doesn't compare to becoming the mascot of his
favorite baseball team and then moving on to become the mascot of the
capital city team, which he had done a few years before that, but I
suppose it's not quite the same as running out onto the field as a
fan...)

conductor, Marge reminds him that his lifelong dream was to run across
the field at a baaseball game and that he did it once, the only time the
Springfield Isotopes made it to the minor league pennant got disqualified
because Homer did run across the field.
