This season has been a roller coaser ride. The first few episodes were OK, but
the next three episodes (Kidney Trouble, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Homer to the
Max) were some the worst episodes in history. I had almost lost complete faith
in the show, when I viewed the next few episodes. Make Room For Lisa, Maximum
Homerdrive, Wild Barts Can't Be Broken, and Viva Ned Flanders were all solid
A's. Tonight was an episode wasn't great, but it set a new milestone in
Simpsons history: it had the absolute best third act EVER. Although the first
and second were uneventful, the third act teemed with humor. Especially the
part where Homer says "Matt Greoning, why is he here?" and then a pencil tries
to erase Homer and it's actually a piece of art. I swear, I was laughing so
hard. This episode would probably be a C- without the third act, but with the
third act, I give it a solid B.

When I saw it on the commericial, it suggested that Matt Groening would make an
appearance (a la The WB classic "Duck Ammuck"), when I saw the episode the first
time and they revealed it as being a work of art, I did not realize that it was a
real life piece of art. That had to be the most clever gag on TV in years.
KUDOS to the writers for an intelligent episode!!!!!
