I watched this one for the second time tonight and it was much funnier
this time than before. I think we all identify with "grimey's"
frustration with the "homer"s in society but it was still pretty funny!

the sub plot about the factory went nowhere but bart getting one in the
first place was a funny idea.

funniest moment in this one:

grimes looking out the window and chortling as homer sneaks out of the
power plant to work on the model power plant contest -- till homer backs
into the side of his car and then speeds away -- grimes :oh GOD!

this show still rocks!

keep up the good work guys!

It just so happened that on Mon, 21 Jul 1997 14:23:33 -0700,
everybody's favorite horn-playing dwarf "Robert Vasquez"

And don't forget that great line:
GRIMES: You were in outer space?!?
HOMER: You mean you haven't been!?

I just have an off the wall question--Who played the voice of "Grimey"
in this episode?... The voice sounds familiar, but the "guest star's"
name did not ring a bell... Can anyone tell me who the guest star was
for that episode?

Thanks! Just email me the answer at my address:

Thanks again!

Series regular Hank Azaria. There was no special guest voice who
played Grimey. (He could've been a permanent character.)

That wasn't Frank Welker? That what voices did/does Welker do?

It didn't seem like Hank disguised his voice all that much, like he
does for his other characters.

Frank Welker is famous for being the voices of creatures, animals and
other sound-based characters. He's been in cartoons since the late 60s, and
his only roles on The Simpsons have been Snowball II, Santa's LIttle Helper,
Princess (Lisa's former pony) and other one-shot animal characters. He is
quite old now and is too old to have sounded like Frank Grimes. Furthermore,
after 8 years, I have a trained ear to know what Hank Azaria's characters
usually sound like.

Some of Frank Welker's credits (and I mean a few) have included:
Thaddeus Plotz, Ralph the Guard, Runt and Buttons on Animaniacs, Megatron on
"The Transformers," Furball on "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "The Lion King."
The Internet Movie Database probably has a buttload more info on him than I
can remember.
