Why do people think that this is a difficult question???????

Charles Montgomery. Please, do not think that you can stump us with such
a "tricky" question. But I have a real horn-honker: What is Homer
Simpson's first name???????

Depends, first aired or first produced? First aired was probably Ron
Taylor. First produced was probably Penny Marshall.

Now that you've stepped down from your little pedestal, the floor is open
for me (and many others) to tell you that you are wrong. To clear up any more
confusion about this, I will now go all out and list each Season One episode to
feature a guest voice, in airdate order:

"Moaning Lisa (7G06)" - Ron Taylor as Bleeding Gums Murphy
"Call of the Simpsons (7G09)" - Albert Brooks as the RV salesman
"Life on the Fast Lane (7G11)" - Albert Brooks as Jacques
"Krusty Gets Busted (7G12)" - Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob
"Some Enchanted Evening (7G01)" - Penny Marshall as Ms. Botz
- June Foray as the
receptionist

The final two digits of the production codes indicate the relative order
in which the episodes were made. As you can see, "Some Enchanted Evening" was
MADE well before the rest of the episodes, but was SHOWN afterwards. Which
factor you feel is more important, and wheather or not you consider Ron Taylor
a guest voice is entirely up to the individual. I sincerely hope this thread
can come to a close.

It has nothing to do with looking it up the fact is the first episode
made was 7G01 "Some Enchanted Evening" with guest star Penny Marshall.

(from the Simpsons FAQ The Simpsons is one of those series that don't
have one specific first episode. Production wise, the first episode
created was 7G01 "Some Enchanted
Evening" (pushed over to the end of the first season because a scene was
being re-animated). )

And you question was

> Who was the first celebrity guest voice on the Simpsons and what character did
> he/she play?

Just because the episode with Albert Brooks aired first doesn't make your
answer absolutely correct. It all depends on how you view it.

>from a free server.

You have to have a different provider in order to do that-- AOL requires that you use
their software, and I'm pretty sure it won't let you just connect to any open news
server or anything. You could be getting standard PPP/SLIP/etc access for the same
price as AOL, often less. If you know how to move around in your operating system,
you're set; don't have to fiddle with any software that you don't want to.

Check out national providers like Earthlink, Netcom, etc. or look in your paper for
local access companies.

If you know ov some free news server, tell me, because AOL *will* let you
connect. As well as having it's own things, AOL is a straight ISP. i use
Geomail, with Outlook Express, and do everything outside of AOL [Cute FTP,
mIRC, ICQ, AIM, Netscape, etc.]. So if there's some free news server, i can
access it using Outlook Express. If you know ov any, please e-mail

Wow, that's news to me. I've used AOL once (one of my former employers had it setup,
I really hated their software) and haven't thought about it since.

Go to http://www.halcyon.com/machey/hunter.html for a list of open news servers. A
majority of them won't work, and the ones that do will probably have crappy feeds,
but that's the price you pay (err, the price you don't pay?). Go to Yahoo (or your
favourite search engine) and type in "open news servers" to find others.

Please don't bother with this KingoTV "person." He's quite obviously a sheltered
little kid who enjoys the fact that he can spout insults at people on the internet,
without having to worry about having his soft skull caved in, like he would in real
life if he acted like this.

If AOL has added filtering features, just put this poor little child in your filter
like I did. Unless people continue to follow up to his posts, I don't know that he
exists anymore.

I don't know what this jackasses hassleis.
All I did was answer a request for a hard trivia question, then when it became
too hard, I was insulted and my question was belittled.
And of course, the classic "AOL Users" insult was brought into play.
Whatever Bizzolts problem is, is surely personal and, therfore, none of my
concern.
Once again, I repeat my question and answer.

WHo is the first guest celebrity voice on The Simpsons?

The dictionary defines a celebrity as someone who is widely known and often
referred to.
Does that answer your question?

I think the point you miss is:

Celebrity is SUBJECTIVE. To ME, Yeardley Smith was a celebrity
before she was a Simpson voice. So was Harry Shearer, etc....The
strictest answer to your question would therefore, to me, be
"Whichever character spoke first in the first episode".
