You guys do know that the creators and writers of the Simpsons
purposely chose 'springfield' as the home of the Simpsons because there
were so many states with a town by that name, and further, they have
puposely used things familiar to each town in an effort to confuse.
You know that, right?
Eh, eh, eh -- it seems we are unfamiliar with sarcasm.
I shall close the register at this point.
Are you saying that Jimmy Hoffa is bured in Springfield?
How many states were founded by circus freaks?
Mr. Museum
That depends. You do know that we know that Lisa, Milhouse, and
Maggie have all celebrated their eighth, tenth, and first birthdays
(respectively) twice, and there have been at three "last days of
school" for Bart and Lisa (one of which wasn't even at Springfield
Elementary), right?
Anyway, the first version I heard was, it was chosen because
"Springfield, USA" was the city in the series "Father Knows Best".
Besides, everybody knows Springfield is in Texas ("Marge in Chains"
shows a sign that says Springfield is 648 miles from Mexico City,
which, even if there was a road in a straight line from Mexico City,
would limit it to the area south of about 40 miles south of San
Antonio).
Besides, everybody knows Springfield is nowhere near Texas (in "Bart
Star", Hank Hill (who lives in Texas) says he drove 2000 miles to get
to Springfield, and none of this "he drove 2000 miles around Texas
because he was too stubborn to ask for directions" stuff).

To quote Marge: "Well, duhh..."
Paul
Sorry, but you never know if people on the internet really believe this
stuff or not.
I've been watching the show since it was a Tracy Ulman sketch, about
eighteen years now, and I love it.
I've recently become interested in how many different sets of clothing
Marge has worn over the years. Having a little trouble remembering,
but my family likes the Chanel episode, and count that as three, rather
than one LOL
I also love King, watch both every day while getting ready for work
LOL Sad, but it helps me keep track of the time!
Anyway, carry on, and sorry to intrude.

And if they say they do, should you believe them?

D'ya know, I've never thought about that! In addition to the Chanel outfit I
think she wore a ball gown in one episode, and a police officer's uniform in
another. There are more (like a witches dress in one of the THOH segments)
but I'm not volunteering for the job of writing the definitive thesis on the
subject...

Never seen it, doesn't appeal (same with Family Guy).

Never apologise in a group like this - it's a sign of weakness, and the
wolves will decend!
Paul
Now that you mention it, none of the other big cartoons appeal to me.
KOTH, Family Guy, South Park, Futurama, America Guy, and whatever else
is on. I'm a big AFV fan, though. Oh, and old Ren and Stimpy episodes
seem to have some appeal as well.

Say it isn't so!
A cartoon isn't real?
This post has become a life-changing experience for me!
Now, could I get a burger & fries, small Coke, no ice?
