Maude Flanders

I was just wondering why the character of maude flanders was killed off. I
heard it may have been something to do with the person who did her voice
leaving the show (her voice was clearly different this season) or was there
some other reason?

helen lovejoy
Miss hoover
Mrs. Van Houten

Does this mean we will never see these characters again?

It's not exactly like any of them were A-list characters or anything.
Helen Lovejoy, in fact, has got to be the most annoying character in
Simpson history.

That's exactly the reason. The writers felt "the Flanders can go into a new
direction with Maggie Roswell, the voice actress who has done Maude for 10 1/2
seasons". Then thy got a dumb idea to have an actress fill in, do the voice
bad, and then kill the character off

That's not exactly true. There is a slight chance we can see those characters
more. I have started a petition to FOX to get the voice actress of those
characters, back on the show to work out with her the desirable raise she
wanted. It's posted under "simp...@about.com

heard since the one about FOX executives stepping in to make the show more
wacky.
