SEASON 10 NON-SPOILERS

I lifted the episode titles and descriptions from the
Simpsons Archive @ http://www.snpp.com/season10.html
and added my own comments.
------------------------------------
AABF02: "D'oh-in' In The Wind"
Homer returns to the world of tie-dye shirts and free love
after deciding to become a hippie.

SPOILER: Homer's middle initial sounds like a letter of the
alphabet.

COMMENTS:
Hippy angle already covered in 3F06: "Mother Simpson"
and hippy jokes grow old faster than hobo jokes
as can be seen in 4F17: "The Old Man and the Lisa".

Leaves of three, let it be.
Leaves of four eat some more.
Leaves of eleven and now you're in heaven.
Hey! I have been making my shirts out of these.
--------------------------------------
AABF03: "Lisa Gets an A":
Corruption is in the air when Springfield Elementary's
faculty forces Lisa to keep quiet about cheating on an
aptitude test, resulting in the school receiving
additional financial support from the city. Meanwhile,
Homer takes a shine to his new aquarium.

HOBO FACTOR: written by Ian Maxtone-Graham.

COMMENTS:

Mrs. Krabappel in 7G02: "Bart The Genius" incorrectly
told students before aptitude test

"Don't kill yourself. The more poorly you do the more
state funding this school gets".

It's the other way around. A school gets more funding for
better test scores. This episode takes the correct
approach. There have been schools where teachers have been
caught giving the students the answers ahead of time. Also,
there has also been cases of students blackmailing their
principals if they don't get certain concessions they will
tank their aptitude tests and the school receives less
funding. Lisa was already involved in similar scandal in
8F15: "Separate Vocations" where she stole all the teacher
edition text books.

I sure hope there are no fish jokes from
3F15: "A Fish Called Selma".
--------------------------------------
AABF04: "Homer Simpson in: `Kidney Trouble'"
When a failing kidney puts Grampa Simpson's life in
jeopardy, Homer offers to donate one of his.

COMMENTS:
This plot is similar to a recent Duckman episode where Duckman needing
a kidney transplant looks for his long-lost father and finds out that
he is a Unabomber type whacko. I don't think Grampa in 3F19: "The
Curse of the Flying Hellfish" tops this one. This may be sad but
Grampa _could die_.
-----------------------------------------
AABF05: "Mayored to the Mob"
Homer ingratiates himself to Mayor Quimby and is
appointed his personal sentinel.

COMMENTS:
Another Homer becomes a inapt assistant ala for Mr Burns in
3F14: "Homer the Smithers" and for Kim Basinger and Alec
Baldwin in the more recent 5F19: "When You Dish Upon A Star".
A plus side is this is could be another good Quimby vehicle
like 2F02: "Mayor Bob Roberts".
------------------------------------------
AABF06: "Viva Ned Flanders"
Homer and Ned Flanders go to Las Vegas and wind up married to
cocktail waitresses.

COMMENTS:
Looks like a good Homer/Flanders buddy vehicle
1F14: "Homer Loves Flanders". As can be remembered from
4F07: "Hurricane Neddy" Flanders can't carry an episode
on his own without Homer as a foil. I expect a Ned and
Maude to have a marital crises like Homer and Marge in
7F20: "War Of The Simpsons".
-------------------------------------------
AABF07: "When Barts Can't Be Broken"
The children of Springfield rebel against the town's
new sunset curfew.

COMMENTS:
The only two Bart led rebellions are in 8F24: "Kamp Krusty"
and to a lesser extant 2F22: "Lemon of Troy".
-------------------------------------------
AABF08: "Sunday, Cruddy Sunday"
When a scalper sells Homer a heap of fake football tickets,
he in turn rakes up a mountain of money pawning them off
on a group of soon-to-be-disgruntled sports fans.

COMMENTS:
Have not seen a good sports riot since
5F01: "The Cartridge Family".
--------------------------------------------
AABF09: "Homer to the Max"
Homer takes steps to distance himself from a new
television sitcom character bearing his name with
a striking resemblance to that of his own personality.

COMMENTS:
Very similar to the Mr. Sparkle subplot in 4F18: "In Marge
We Trust". Also, Homer already voiced a loud mouth Poochie
in 4F12: "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show".
--------------------------------------------
AABF10: "Marge Simpson in: Screaming Yellow Honkers"

Looks like Marge makes popcorn treats similar to the brand
name "Screaming Yelling Zonkers" a la the pretzels in
4F08: "The Twisted World of Marge Simpson". A
"Screaming Yelling Zonker" is also a souped up car.
Or could be a Marge-gets-naked episode as in
5F18: "Natural Born Kissers".
--------------------------------------------
AABF11: "I'm With Cupid"

COMMENTS:
Looks like a Valentine's Day theme episode
9F13: "I Love Lisa". The big problem is that the Simpsons
had a good Christmas theme show 7G08: "Simpsons Roasting
Over An Open Fire" but wore it out with 3F07: "Marge Be
Not Proud" and 5F07: "Miracle on Evergreen Terrace".
Writers, stick with the THOH formula.
--------------------------------------------
AABF12: "Make Room for Lisa"

COMMENTS: No.
--------------------------------------------
AABF13: "Maximum Homerdrive"

COMMENTS:
Looks like Homer gets a souped up pickup as in
9F07: "Mr. Plow". Could see Cletus in this one.
--------------------------------------------
AABF14: "Simpsons Bible Stories"
A set of three Bible stories --
revised in the Simpsons way, of course!

COMMENTS:
Could be a classic if they keep it in style with
7F13: "Homer Vs. Lisa and the Eighth Commandment" and
9F01: "Homer The Heretic". Flanders will be great in this
one.
--------------------------------------------
AABF15: "Mon and Pop Art"

COMMENTS:
Looks like Homer and Marge gets involved in an art
thing. Will be interesting as Marge is a good artist 7F18:
"Brush With Greatness" but Homer does not have an artistic
bone in his body.
--------------------------------------------
AABF16: "The Old Man and the `C' Student"

COMMENTS:
Similar title to 7F03: "Bart Gets An F" and a similar premise
to Burns and Lisa in 4F17: "The Old Man and the Lisa". But
Lisa is an A student so it sounds like Bart.
--------------------------------------------
AABF17: "Monty Can't Buy Me Love"

COMMENTS:
Looks like a Burns-is-stinking-rich-but-he-still-can't-
-get-love vehicle as in 1F21: "Lady Bouvier's Lover".
--------------------------------------------
AABF19 - E-I-E-I-D'oh! -- officially E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)

COMMENTS:
Looks like a farmer based episode. Could be good
if they keep away from the hillbilly jokes.

The Duckman episode I'm talking about is listed at

His new aquarium?

Try "Homer's too cheap to buy a full-sized lobster, so he buys a baby one
and raises it himself"

Actually, the Canyonero from "Last Temptation of Krust" makes its return
as Gil sells one to the Simpsons. Marge learns what road rage is all
about.

How would a teacher know the answers to a standardized test?

Read the following in any number of ways. It's still a legitimate
question.

Good question. Because some school boards use the same questions over
and over again. Some teachers told their students that these questions
were on last year's test and will be on this year's test. Because of
such transgressions some teachers had their teahing licenses summarily
revoked.

You know, I beginning to think that there may be a way to save this
ship. <crosses fingers> I think that I'll keep it a secret in case it
does turn out that way.

Perhaps it's something like Piet Mondrain?

A friend of mine was asking the same question...

But perhaps that ep was more of a war than a simple rebellion. Then again, so was
Lemon of Troy...
