^ I too saw the wooba song on sesame street (because of my three year
^ old sister) The thing about that video that was most interesting to
^ me was that it sounded like the simpsons real voices...
^

The name of the song is ``The Monster in the Mirror'' and it dates
back to at least the 12th of November last year from the ``Big Bird's
Birthday Special''. At the risk of violating accepted Usenet
practice, here's an article from my archives,,

# Subject: Simpson's cameo on Sesame Street

# I have a two-year old daughter (the one who's first word was
# "Bart"), so I get to watch Sesame Street a lot. Today, Grover
# Monster was singing a silly monster song called "Wooba Wooba"
# (I'm guessing) and the video featured lots of cameos by other
# stars. For example, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams appeared
# in the video. Near the end of the song, the Simpsons did their
# cameo and Bart sang one of the lines of the song, something like:
# "If you try and wooba me, I'll wooba you right back". Later,
# they come back Bart says something and Homer gets after him
# ("Bart!"). I'm taping it tomorrow (I know when each episode of
# Sesame Street is on :-), so I'll be able to give more precise
# information then, but I wanted to give _some_ advance warning in
# case anyone else out there wants to try to catch it. The episode
# will be on tomorrow morning at 9:00 am CDT and the video appears
# in the last half of the show.
#
# I expect this to be the first of many appearances by the Simpsons
# on Sesame Street. The other stars in the video have made many other
# appearances.

The Simpsons made a similar appearance in a similar musical a few years later
(1996, IIRC). It was a song called "Put down the ducky" about Ernie having to
do just that so he could play the saxaphone.
