recreationists were after naval reservists and pastry chefs.

I feel it is about time we try to compile a list of Hitler and Nazi references
on The Simpsons. I am by no means, a fascist, racist, skinhead or otherwise by
starting this post, so I'm avoiding all flames by stating this now. Here's what
I've come up with/remembered so far:

"Congratulations! You are now all historic World War I recreators (or something
to that effect)!" "Homie The Clown"

Homer (singing): "Hitler is a jerk....Mussolini...and now it doesn't work."
(Not sure what episode this is from, but it was at a sporting event and he was
pulling the car around. This may or may not have been cut in syndication, as it
does not show up in Closed Captioning on my TV. I actually think this line was
from "Wild Bart's Cant be Broken.").

Itchy and Scratchy beating up Adolf Hitler. "The Simpsons 138th Episode
Spectacular."

Homer (While watching Jeopardy!): "Hitler!" (The correct answer was Bismarck,
btw. :)).

Monty Burns: "We'll all be rich, rich as Nazis." (From Raging Abe Simpson And
His Grumbling Grandson In Curse Of The Flying Hellfish.).

This is all I can think of now. Please correct or add as you see fit. Good day.

That was Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie. It might have been the above too,

Lets not forget The original ending of Casablance in Natural Born Kissers, Bart
crashing Hitler's car in Bart Carnie, and the Do as we say festival, started by
Gremanic settlers in the '40s which eventually became Brad Goodmans Do as you

Actually it was from "simpson tide" and syndication ruins it by cutting to

1st of all, while Hitler was a soldier in WWI, WWI still was not a war where
the Germans were Nazis or fascists.

My second favorite, of course, is where Hitler blames Bobo for the loss of

Actually, he's in Brazil, where some theorized that he fled to when Germany was beaten.  But, nonetheless, that is a great scene.
Another reference is in "Simpson Tide" when Homer takes the submarine to Russia.  The Russian ambassador says something about the Soviet Union, and then somebody says, "I thought that you broke up."  And then he says, "That's what we wanted you to think!"  Then there's the marching in Russia, and in Germany, the Berlin Wall pops up from the ground, complete with Checkpoint Charlies.  "Reunited - And It Feels So Good" was on the sign. <G>

How about this line from Dr. Hibbert in "The Boy Who Knew Too Much"

"Well, only one in two million people has what we call 'the evil gene.' Hitler
had it. Walt Disney had it. And Freddy Quimby has it."

From "Dog of Death"

Bart: Is there a doggie Hell?
Homer: Well.. of course. There couldn't be a heaven if there weren't a hell.
Bart: Who's there?
Homer: Oh, uh... Hitler's dog. And that dog Nixon had... Chester...

From "Homer the Great"

Hitler (or a lookalike) is one of the Stonecutters.

Is somewhat keeping track of all these?

The best was the episode where Sideshow Bob is up for parole and is asked
to explain the "Die Bart Die" tattoo on his chest. He claims that it's
German, at which point a member of the parole board comments:

I can think of 2 more Nazi/Hitler references offhand:

1. When Bart is ringing the Southern Hemisphere to find out which way the
water flows on their toilets, the first call he makes is to a chap with a
remarkable similarity to Hitler, who says "Eine Minuten!" as he reaches for
the phone.

2. Monty Burns compares himself to Oskar Schindler, saying "We both made
shells for the Nazis, but mine worked!"

My understanding was that he was trying to give some sort of sense that
_everyone_ had a stake in West Berlin's fate during the Cold War, or that
everyone outside the Iron Curtain was in the same boat as they. Kind of like
Quayle's notorious "we are a part of NATO, we are a part of Europe" comment...

Two more:

Grampa: "Now they'll never save your brain, Hitler!" (from the Flying
Hellfish ep)

"They Saved Lisa's Brain"'s title is a reference to "They Saved Hitler's
Brain", a B-rate sci-fi movie.

I don't know what your problem is with it. He gets in Hitler's car, and
immediately acts as if it's the Batmobile or something. At least that's the way
I took it.

Here's an old copy of Dominik Halas' Hitler References from 1996.
I don't know the status of this list, but the list would be a
good place to start with. I would suggest try contacting Dominik,
either though his old email address or a search through
www.deja.com, and see what he says about you taking it over.
(No sense in redupicating work that's already done. :-)

As for Nazi refs. I don't think such a list was created yet.

Oh, 'scuse me. Yeah, it was supposed to be after "Bart the Daredevil".

I'd love to see that short...why'd they decide not to show it again? Because it
was too offensive or something?

Simpsons videos or something... :::

Hopefully they'll dust it off and animate it for the 338th episode

And of course the 1938 Roger Meyer's film "Nazi Superman Are Our Superiors."
Huh. I guess that would be a flagrant Nazi reference, if I ever saw one.

As well as "Sim Reich", possibly a take-off on both "SimCity" and
