Is Harry Shearer Harry Shearer?

Am I right in thinking the Harry Shearer in the Simpsons (he does the voice of Monty Burns, Smithers and much more) is the same Harry Shearer who appears in Spinal Tap; he's the bassist with a cucumber down his pants.

Someone please tell me, I'm straining with despair.

Yes, you are correct. He was also on Saturday Night Live, in The Truman Show
and Godzilla.

One and the same!

In fact, his acting career go all the way back to the Jack Benny show on
radio back in the 1950's.

He played the original Eddy Haskel (sp?) in the pilot episode of Leave
it to Beaver.

I dunno about the other two, but Hank Azaria was in Godzilla. Was Harry Shearer
also in it, or were you thinking of Hank?
