The first time we see Homer with all his chips and dips and things, then we go
away, then come back to him, hasn't a fairly small amount of time elapsed for
him to have consumed all those bags of chips which are now missing? Do you
think that this is intentional, i.e. a joke about how much he's eating, or a
mistake?
DYN Maggie cheering along with everyone, and Maggie's bent hair while it was
being washed. I liked her playing with the football too.
Wasn't it odd the way nothing became of the subplot with Bart's geeky clothes?
It broke for a commercial with him being bounced in the car, and then that was
the end of it.
Ya know, when Homer came to collect from Moe for the first time, it sure
sounded like Moe mumbled "fucking moron". I played it back though and it is
quite definitely "lucky moron".
We got an abbreviated opening here, with the sofa scene being the one where
they're all sitting on SLH.
And finally, I had some difficulty following some of the football stuff because
it assumed you knew the correspondance between city name and team name! Am I
right in thinking that the joke involved in the modified closing music is that
it is music which would be typical of a band playing at half-time(?)?
I thought this was an overall weak episode. Hope they don't start coasting.
Yes, I noticed it!! Not only does Lisa go from standing to sitting,
but she then goes back to standing!!
BTW: This was the first episode to be recorded on my vcr and watched
on my new tv with cable (yeah!!!!!!) so I noticed something else, as
I watched the intro in slow-motion. When Lisa drives by Homer, is she
wearing some sort of a hat? If not, her head looks *really* weird there!
I thought the episode had some great parts (i.e. Maggie in the sink,
Bart throwing in a dish, etc.) but the writing of it was very weak. I
thought the geeky clothes subplot should have been carried through, I
kept waiting for something else to happen there.
I hope we don't start getting these shortened intros again...

I thought the same thing when I first heard it. Replaying the tape on
the TV with the closed caption decoder proved to me that he said
"lucky moron".
Whew, that was a close one.
Now back to your conversation.

The Abject Admirers all know that what Lisa is wearing is a bicycle helmet!
(She forgets to wear her helmet when riding to Springfield Forest in [8f01].)
NanoDYN: Homer forgot to buy Lisa a Christmas gift at the Circus of Values.

I thought so too. Then in the beginning of Drexel's Class, Drexel is hasseling
Steve Garvey, and Garvey chases him off, with Drexel muttering It was just a
"fucking joke." Another proud moment in american culture! First "fuck" in a
sit-com!
