No, it's a clown/circus tune. It's not a classical or anything, it seriously is
just circus music.'
Send in the clowns....

Well, the song Homer sings while thinking about the ballet in "Marge on the
Lam" is an old circus tune. However, the music when Homer is daydreaming
about clown college is different, and that's what I was referring to.

I always heard it called "Enter the Gladiators", but that's definitely
the tune that Marge starts doot-doo'ing to at the dinner table (in
Homer's mind, that is).

Julius Fucik - "Einzug der Gladiatoren" is the correct author and song
title...
That's what I thought too, but I looked at a classical CD I have and it said
"Entry of..."
Yeah, I'm going on memory, not any particular publication of the song.
I'm sure you're right (the CD as well).

This is a favorite episode of mine, and the sequences with Homer's
hallucinations were among the best parts. The part where he imagines the
fleeing workers as a bunch of clowns was superb, and the dinner table scene
just took the cake. I had to watch the ep twice cuz the first time, I kept
busting out laughing at that scene.

I may still have that ep on VHS somewhere. I used to tape EATI all the
time so I could watch it when there was nothing good on TV, which is
about 98% of the time.

Helpful? It came off more as arrogant. Two people had already
sufficiently answered the question, the only difference is that they
used the english title which is no less acceptable than the title you
gave. As for your implication that there is something wrong with my
language I can only quote a classic scene:
Marge: So, what did you children learn about today?
Bart: Hell.
Homer: Bart!
Bart: But that's what we learned about.
I sure as HELL can't tell you we learned about HELL
unless I say HELL, can't I?
Homer: Well, the lad has a point.
Bart: Hell, yes!
Marge: Bart!
Bart: [singing] Hell, Hell, Hell, Hell, ...
Marge: Bart, you're no longer in Sunday School. Don't swear.

Marge: Bart, watch your language!
Bart: But that's what she is - I looked it up.
Marge: Mmmm, I'm going to write the dictionary people about that. Feels
like a mistake to me.
(that's off the top of my head. might not be verbatim to the actual scene).
Bart: "So, where's this BASTARD live?"
