A decent episode. It seemed to go more for cheap laughs then
developing sitcom-ish humor. That's not necessarily bad, but I don't
like to see it too often. I like how they're giving every ep. the full
opening, but the chalkboard gag and couch scene were boring. The
begining with the prostitites made me laugh hard-- the *first* two times
they said "prostitute". It got boring after that. I love Homer when he
gets bored real fast. That's never unfunny. "Do we have to listen to
you?" The story moved too slowly in the hospital, and too quickly
elsewhere. Parallel parking with the pump-cart was funny, and the car
falling on Homer was a laugh riot. (Though I wish they gave Hans some
lines) They could have gotten the kidney part overwith faster and had
some story about what happened *after* the operation.

Overall, this episode was side-splitting laughs... with a lot of
boring slow-moving filler in between. They could've done so much more
with the story. 8.3 of 10: B

I agree it was a funny episode, by and large.

Having read many of the reviews, I haven't seen anyone point out in detail two
pretty funny gags:

When Grampa pinches the robot butt on the bar, the robot hand flies through the
air and slaps him.

Homer's stitches are in the shape of a kidney, as if he were opened up like the
Operation game.
