Carl is not gay and I make this assumption from the fact that he was
friendly with the women in the typing pool. it's a possibility.

I believe we're supposed to assume that Karl was so friendly with the
women because, as a homosexual, he can relate with them better (note
that Homer, a heterosexual, probably doesn't even _know_ the women in
the typing pool).

Still, that's not exactly proof one way or the other. The fact David
Silverman has said Karl is gay, however, is proof. The end.

No but Barney is gay. Here's the evidence:

He enjoyed Skinner's hand on his butt in the bomb shelter
He sent a Valentine card to Moe and blew him a kiss
Homer fantasized about him in a bikini (Homer's gay too)
He wanted to date Selma, whom Otto thought was a transsexual
He played "housewife" while visiting with Homer
He was shown lying in Homer's bed drinking beer when they were highschool
buddies

Are you a moron? Haven't you ever heard of the stereotype that gay guys
are FRIENDS with women and not men. The writers were trying to convey that
he was part of their "sewing circle" or "gossip ring"

There are many hints that Barney and Homer are gay, proof of this could be
the reverse pychology bit that anyone homophobic is gay(remember John
Water's eposode).
