"The Adventures Of Ozzie & Harriet", which ran from October3, 1952 through
September 3, 1966. A total of 14 years.

Was Ozzie and Harriet in primetime the whole time? Married with Children's
claim to fame was the longest running primetime sitcom.

"Married With Children" holds the title!

....but.......but........but.........
They both span 11 years, but neither has 11 seasons. A typical TV show
(unless it premiers mid-season, which I don't think either of these did) will
start in the second half of the year and end in the first half of the next year
each season.

I just saw A&E's "Biography" of the Nelson family, and they say "Adventures"
ran for 435 episodes (and yes, they confirm it was the longest-running
prime-time sitcom). This works out to be 31 or 32 episodes a year. "The
Simpsons," on the other hand, produces about 24 episodes a year, discounting
the first season which had 13 episodes. So, even if "The Simpsons" was to
run for 15 seasons, they will have made "only" 349 episodes; "O&H" fans
could still claim their show ran longest, based on the number of episodes
made. For "The Simpsons" to be the longevity champ, it would have to run
until 2007. See you there!

If I'm not mistaken the real answer is "The Adventures of Ozzie and
Harriet with about 18 seasons or so. Simpsons has a long way to go!
