In the episode where Lisa's teacher, Ms. Hoover, gets lime disease and
replaced by a substitute, is the voice of the substitute Dustin Hoffman? It
sounds like him and they make a reference to the graduate, but I didn't see
his name in the credits.
Thanks.

Yep, it is him. They aired that one here tonight, too.

The fact that he was credited as "Sam Etic" is even funnier...

Why is that funny? I never understood that pseudonym.

Also Michael Jackson was John J Smith.

But the funniest joke in a joke was in a later episode where Lisa goes to
the Itchy & Scratchy movie premier and she says who the guest voices were:
"Dustin Hoffman, Michael Jackson,....but they didn't use their real
names..."

Sam Etic... Semitic (a jewish person).

d'oh! see the only time I ever hear the term is in the complete phrase
"anti-semetic"

another joke I only recently got:
Way way back in season one when, one of the first episodes ever, 7G04
There's No Disgrace Like Home,
Homer brings Jell-O to the picnic and Burns says that's whet everybody
brought. Someone went around telling everyone I like that slimy goop.

I just realized that it was probably Homer that went around telling
everyone.

All this time I used to assume it was Smithers for some reason.
