Act Three didn't shock me, sadly, because I was expecting it to go in some bonkers direction. Eh. I went in with blank expectations, but an early line about waiting for the scandal to "blow over" reminded me of 2F06 (Homer Bad Man, with the gummi Venus de Milo), and I realized this could have been a modern telling of the same basic idea, for the internet/social-media age, but it fell flat. The point at the end, that it's bad to forget everything, is a good one to make, just one undermined by most of the leadup to it. Also, I think the writers are missing a key element if Helen's lemonade-stand rant was directed at white kids, no?
DYN:
...Homer somehow forgot how Santa's Little Helper joined the family (until he didn't)?
...Homer's lobster bib is the only one with a middle initial (Bart and Lisa should have some at least)?
Previous episode stuff
2F06: Much of early plot
CABF11: Marge's force feeding breakfast to the family reminiscent of "chew chew chew, swallow swallow swallow"
CABF04: now something gets in Lenny's *dog's* eye
For what it's worth
Airing 3 of QABF20 (Lisa's Belly) was joined in progress in the east; the race ended about 6:55 but coverage continued, as usual, for about 20 minutes. The usual shortened NABF21 opening ran at 7:15, then at a little past 7:17, the episode itself came in... about a minute before the end of an act. By the time it came back at 7:22, Fox had essentially run three batches of ads in a row for almost 9 minutes. Anyway, what did run was at full speed, and nothing was added (the Betty White dedication from the second airing was of course gone).
