"Lisa's first word" comment

Hi:)

Sorry to be a nitpicker, but in watching my DVD of "Lisa's first word"
The writers state that Bart was around two years old when Lisa was
born. Now, that being the case, why does Bart look and sound like he
does at age 10? I've been around two year olds and most of them don't
talk as well as Bart does.

Also, Why do Homer and Marge supposedly make Bart give up his crib for
soon to be born Lisa? Most two year olds I ever knew still slept in
cribs and drank from bottles.
