Sure I'd love to hear your theory
She expected Tom to betray her (maybe because her mother kinda sorta betrayed
her?) She looked for betrayal. Instead of telling him her fears, she harped
on every fault and refused to compromise. When she refused to compromise so
did he. He, too, lacked in the communcations department. She picked fights.
I think he picked fights also, but not as often as she did. I think his was a
response to her picking fights and such.
She expected his betrayal and looked for it. She was willing to believe that
he was having an affair or wanted to. She was waiting for it. I think that
she insulted his music one day and so he said he'd written "the song" for
someone else.
Okay, here is where the real speculation comes in. I assume their property
settlement was written at a bar. First she filed for divorce, then he followed
her to a bar, trying to convice her otherwise. Then she hit his car or
something. He said something about it. She said "You care more about that
damned car than you do me." or something to that effect. He said "You can
have the damn car." He then wrote that down on the napkin and signed it. She
signed it too. And so was made their property agreement.
Okay, I may have missed a thing or two. Like I said, I made it up after seeing
the first couple eps. Hope it makes sense.
What do you think?

Wrongamundo! One of the episodes included the judge who presided over
their divorce. They overheard him to brag to a friend as to how he
had messed them up by, for example, giving Cassie Tom's car.

Oh, okay. I was wrong about that then. I said it was all speculation. I said
I might have missed a detail or two.
Does anyone else have a theory?
Rebecca
The episode was called "Divorce, Palm Beach Style" from the sixth season!
