I have been watching Silk Stalkings forever but I could never figure out
why Chris & Rita called each other "Sam". Please let me know. Thanks!!!

It is a reference to the golfer Sam Snead. The show uses lots of golf
references for sex and the like. There is a Silk Stalking web page (sorry,
I don't remember the URL) that explains it all.

I think they call eachother "sam" because in one of the early episode they
said it was after some golf player like "Slippery Sam or something?

They call each other Sam after golfing legend Sammy Snead.
They said so in one of the first episodes.
