Can anyone remember how Newman determined that Kramer, not Elaine, was
the true owner of the Schwinn bicycle?

Thank-you in advance.

Initially, Newman wanted to cut the bike in half an give Elaine one half and
Kramer the other. Elaine was so sick of the whole fiasco that she agreed to
just cut it in half so she wouldn't have to deal with the situation any
more. Kramer said that he'd rather her have than see the bike come to any
harm. Newman then concluded that only the bike's true owner would give away
if it meant ensuring the bike's safety.

Cut the bike in half, the real owner would never allow that to happen.

Which is, of course, a reference to the Judgement Of Solomon

What else did he do besides the cutting in half deal? One idea per lifetime
is not enough to get a whole lot of adulation.

I was going to suggest he had a magic ponytail, but I believe that was
Samson. I think Solomon wrote some naughty poems and had them published in
the bible...

Okay,, you asked...

He established an efficient centralized government, with a
professional army and an advanced trade network.

Solomon is believed to be derived from the Hebrew word for peace -
appropriate, considering that Israel did indeed enjoy relatively high
security and prosperity during his reign.

King Solomon, the son of King David, established Jerusalem as the city
of justice and peace. His name reflects the original name of the city,
Shalem. Solomon is said to have been given both "wisdom and
knowledge", this is usually taken to mean wise government, the ability
to distinguish morally between good and evil, and a thorough
understanding of the universe.

Solomon is perhaps most famous for building the original Temple of God
in Jerusalem to serve as a permanent place for the Levites to house
The Ark Of The Covenant, containing The Ten Commandments, as well as
all of their other duties.

Above all, he lavished attention on Jerusalem, raising splendid public
buildings and palaces, and carrying out his father's plan to erect a
Temple for the Lord, worthy to house the Ark of the Covenant. The
Bible provides a vivid description of the Temple's dedication in 1
Kings 6-8.

Around 950 B.C., and after seven long years of construction, all
Israel came to witness this day. Solomon's Temple, House of the Lord,
awaited God and king atop the holy Mount of Moriah above the city of
David.

In the midst of the celebrations and accompanied by the sounds of
trumpet, pipe and cymbals, the Ark was brought into the Temple. For
the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation
(Psalms 132:13). Solomon led the procession of the elders and heads of
Israel's tribes behind the Ark.

The Temple's gold-inlaid doors swung open as the Ark was brought into
the large vestibule and finally into its resting place inside the Holy
of Holies.

Solomon's Temple made Jerusalem not just another capital, but Israel's
religious center . . .

Solomon's Temple was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar in 587 B.C. The
Temple was later rebuilt twice and then destroyed by the Romans who
built a pagan temple on its site.

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon...she came to
Jerusalem (1 Kings 10:1). Romance and pageantry dramatized the queen
of Sheba's summit with Solomon. Their meeting was immortalized by the
Bible and modern works of art. The kings of Ethiopia still claim
descent from a son of Solomon and the queen of Sheba.

Solomon shone in Israel's memory as a man wiser than all men.
Tradition credits him with the Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Song of
Songs.

Newman proposed to "cut the bike in half" giving both Kramer and Elaine half
of the bike. Elaine wanted to do it and Kramer begged Newman to give Elaine
the bike instead. Newman said that only the true owner would see the bike
go another than have it come to harm. "Kramer...the bike is yours."
