does that even mean? Examples? And do you actually think you can correlate
this with the fact that JLD's father was Jewish, who left when she was 1?
Her father is not Bernard, but Gerard, and when in the USA, he goes by
William.
I'm not sure what your point is about JLD portraying Elaine "Jewish". I

Of course the show uses Jewish humor, but this does not address my specific
question. JLD did not grow up in NYC, but Baltimore (Towson, just like in
one of the episodes) and DC, where I am, where she went to Holton Arms as a
child. She was not raised by her Jewish father, and he was not from NY, but
from France! She grew up in the goyishe life, and married a goyishe guy
Brad Hall. I'm Jewish, my Usenet name is in fact a joke on the Yiddish word
Paskudniak, so I know the show uses NY Jewish humor, but you did not address
specifically how JLD "plays Elaine Jewish", or explain what her father who
she didn't live with beyone age 1 and was from France, has to do with it.
Inquiring minds want to know.
