Seinfeld on Blossom on Seinfeld

How many of you remember in "The Virgin" when Jerry enters the meeting
with NBC and asks "Where's Russell?" and Rita says, "He had to go to
LA. There's a problem on the set of Blossom." and Jerry says, "Oh,
poor Blossom."

Well last night during Blossom (I don't know how many of you watch the
show) Blossom's dad's writer friend was trying to sell a show to NBC.
Anyway, the guys are just deciding to pick up the show when the phone
rings and Mr. NBC Exec says, "Ok, be right there." hangs up the phone
and says, "I've gotta go, there's a problem on the Seinfeld set." and
one of the other men (the dad or the writer friend, I forget) says,
"Oh, poor Jerry." I could tell by the audience response that not many
Blossom fans watch Seinfeld :)

I also caught this and was going to mention it. It was
strange how both shows mentioned that there was a problem
on both sets. I also noticed in an episode (that slips my
mind right now) that a blossom promo picture was hung in
the lobby of NBC.

I don't normally watch Blossom (really, I swear!) but last night's show
was actually pretty funny. They try to sell a show about their family to
NBC and the executive says, "Isn't that what Seinfeld is doing?" The
father's friend responds, "Yeah, but Seinfeld is a genius, and Nick's just
a pathetic loser."

Later, Blossom dreams about what the show will be like, and there was a
pretty good parody of standard sitcom fare, including extended laugh
tracks at lame jokes, and excessive screams at the entrance of a good
looking male character. Who would have thunk that Blossom could have come
up with a show that was actually witty.

So what's wrong with watching Blossom? It's usually a very good show.
