Newman, the Cliff Clavin of Prozac, has many fans in this newsgroup.
They want to know what his first name is:pay attention and I will tell
you. his first name is george. How do you know this you might well ask?

In the movie UHF Michael richards (Kramer) played the stumble bum friend
of Weird Al Yankovic. In the movie his name was George Newman. It is my
contention that Richards remembered the name & gave it to the seinfeld
writers. After all Newman was first introduced as being Kramer's friend.
Glad to be of service. Will the last one out please turn off the lights.

"Click", went the lights. "Scrreeeecchh", went the door as it closed
quietly, letting the moonlight in through the half closed window as the
cool air chilled the room with shadows dancing on the floor.

Sorry, Michael Richard's character in UHF is not George Newman!
He plays a janitor who saves the station, named something like Alex
Spidalski.

'Weird Al' Yankovic's character was George Newman. Michael Richard was Stanley
Spadlowski, I think.

Very close! Actually, Michael Richards played Stanley Spidowski, the
janitor in UHF.
