Center in Studio City, CA. (San Fernando Valley). Some of the outdoor scenes
are filmed on a NY street set at the same lot. But they have been known to
use the NY street sets at Paramount's back lot and some other lots. They
edit in stock shots actually shot in NY (ie. Monk's cafe, etc.) to give a
real NY flavor.

I don't know a lot about how the networks choose where to film, but I
imagine Seinfeld is probably filmed at an NBC studio somewhere, not CBS:-)

Seinfeld IS shot at CBS in Studio City. I live a block away from it.
Other shows taped there (past and present) include Hill St. Blues, A
Different World, Rosanne, Newhart and American Gladiators. The 60's series
Wild Wild West was filmed there as well.
The exterior location used when Jerry and George were using a payphone to
call the police (when Kramer was a suspected serial-killer) is about a
block away from the former "Republic Pictures" studio.

Seinfeld is shot at the CBS/Radford Lot in Studio City.
(And if the apartments look similar, it's a _real_ coincidence; don't
forget that Kramer's apartment is ostensibly a sublet from Paul!)

apartment is looks just a little like seinfeld's, if you notice the
kitchen is in a totally different location.

Yes, both Seinfeld and Mad About You are filmed in the same place: Los
Angeles.

As I've mentioned before,
Seinfeld is filmed at CBS Studios
in Studio City, CA.
As legggs stated, lots of studios are
leased to shows that don't appear on that
network, and Seinfeld is a good example of
that.
Other shows that are also filmed there

I went to a taping of Seinfeld at CBS/MTM Studios in Studio City, CA. It was
the Mentor episode that aired this past Halloween. Tickets are exremely
difficult to get and I was very lucky and have gotten them from a friend.

Incorrect. Jerry has a kitchenette on stage right. MAY has a kitchen
on the left. Jerry's bedroom and bathroom are where Paul and Jamie's
window is.

It's not the same apartment. However, there was an episode where Paul and
Jaime (from Mad About You) are arguing about his old "bachelor pad", and
why he is still holding on to it. He tells her that it's because it's
rent-controlled, and in a nice part of town.
Later, when they go visit his old place, it turns out to be KRAMER'S
apartment. At the end, Paul tells Kramer that he can keep the place. And
that's how Kramer can afford to live where he does.
