Don't forget Eugene Levy's Brian Johns in "Money Talks" or Moranis and
Thomas as William Shakespeare and Francis Bacon in the brilliant "Shake &
Bake".

Candy and Levy as the polka- playing Schmenge brothers.

Candy and Flaherty as Billy Sol Hurok and Big Jim McBob in "Celebrity
Blow-up."
("May the good Lord take a likin' to ya and blow ya up real good.")

Andrea Martin in "Mrs. Falbo's Tiny Town."

Martin Short as Jerry Lewis in a Bergman film.

And of course....Moranis and Thomas as Bob and Doug Mackenzie, those two
hosers from the "Great White North."

One you missed:
Martin Short: Irving Cohen. Boil Boy a close second. Best Kathrine Hepburn

This is quite a hard question!!!!!
Since Catherine O'Hara is my favorite SCTV player , I would have to
give more examples of her characters. I love her "Dusty Towne", Brooke
Shields, Lola Heatherton, Elizabeth Taylor etc. With Andrea Martin, it has
to be Edith Prickley/Edna Boyle or Libby Wolfson .

Peace,

Brian

Mine would have to be Guy Cabellaro. I love the sudden outburst of
tyrany and then the moments of calmness. And the wheelchair bit just
kept me rolling.

Admittedly, the other characters were just as funny -

the two farmers, who blowed 'em real good
the slumlord played by John Candy
the pastry chef played by Dave Thomas

Quite honestly, 99.9 percent of the entire show was the greatest TV has ever
been.
The ONLY skit I did not find funny was 'The Great White North." It NEVER EVER
made me laugh.
All the actors were great. Eugene Levy I believe was the most versatile, as Al
Peck, Jack Carter, Phil the Commercial Pitcher, Perry Como.
The People's Golden Choice Awards was the greatest thing I have ever seen.
I have I believe everything on Tape and would sell at a reasonable price.

The only time I thought Bob and Doug were funny was when they made fun of
themselves: Great White Palace, the rest of the time I thought it was painful
to watch.

I too feel Levy was the "method actor" of the bunch. He really became his
characters. I think Joe F was underated too.

I agree with Bushmiller (no, wait, I am bushmiller); I should had too that Dave
and Rick seemed somewhat perplexed and embaressed by the sudden positive
response to the characters. Not self-loathing mind you, I think it struck a
nerve with the (pre-) Beavis...crowd and made them umcomfortable. I mean they
were on stage with Rush for pete's sake!
