That's the RhythmAce, and Edith's machine. But they are close relatives,
and Edith probably bought it from her. Oh yes, I would need the
Christmas dog bit *and* Cooking with Edith on that island, as well
Edith's 'Tracking the Unknown', The Fella Who Couldn't Wait for

Good list. May I humbly submit:
Harry's Scramble Days (Harry, you're super! Now where are the marital
aids?)
Yuri: Getting to Know You
Cruisin' Gourmet
Just For Fun (with Aaron Copeland - I think there was only one)
12 Angry Men (I'd have to call it off-mocha)
Al Peck's Used Fruit
Tom Monroe: On a New Wavelength (Turning Japanese and Da Do Do Do...)
Julia Child vs. Mr. Rogers
Men on Women (bikinis - again, I think this is the only one)
FFCBU: Sedaka
Perry Como: Still Alive (OK, maybe this is the one to show the uninitiated)
What Fits into Russia (Hello people!)
5 Neat Guys (first ad)
Schmenge Christmas or Happy Wanderers with guest Lynce Mynyak (I just can't
choose one over the other - poll?)
Bobby Bittman library PSA.
Couldn't stop at ten, and even fifteen was tough.
Yeh, I wasn't sure exactly whom Moranis was emulating with that Tex Boil
replacement audition, but Keith Emerson seems perfect...and what the HECK
was that sax band with Candy in a blonde wig?! (Everyone: "That's right,
Edna!")
And I did want a "Harry's" bit, and had forgotten about the Scramble
days...shame on me!
YES! "Just for fun", with Guest stars - what was it? Dave Thomas as Karl
Marx, or was it Engels or something? Andrea Martin as Gloria Steinem, was
it?.......ugh, it's been way too long....
That one brings me to another great overlooked game show, "Revenge!"
Al Peck's used anything was top-notch.
"What fits into Russia" was definitely the highlight of the CCP1 episode;
that whole show ought to be a desert isle SCTV on its own......
I'd pick the Shmenge brothers Christmas special....."Find the egg!", "The
exchanging of the socks", and the "Watching the tree".
On the Christmas topic, another one I should have included was the "Sammy
Maudlin Christmas Special", featuring "Neil Simon's Nutcracker
suite"....("Ladies and gentlemen - I promise you, I am going to quit smoking
one day!", and "It's Marsha!!!"..."Yeh, and that's William B.; I think we
all know each other here!")
Thanks; that rounded out my list quite well.

He was Alexander Solzienietsen (sp, clearly) and she was Betty Friedan? That
was nicely weird. On the pressing question of who they considered a beautiful
woman, Al hesitantly offered Paula Prentiss.

I would really need Rex and Edna Boil's Christmas boutique. Yappy dogs in satin
costumes - that's Christmas to me.

And yes, Revenge is fantastic, especially Dave Thomas's hair and eyebrows.
So many great game shows to choose from. I'd go with what I think is the
first Half Wits where John Candy sorts ball bearings for a living.
The Christmas specials were so incredibly funny, it's a shame they're only
shown once a year (of course now they're not shown at all). I love the
Count Floyd special where we never see the kid from Deliverance speak, but
everyone refers to things he said earlier (Count Floyd: "Yes. The kid from
Deliverance is right!").
Sigh.

As I remember it, it was Aaron Copeland who suggested Paula Prentiss,
because she was so wholesome and nice. Solzhenitsyn I think went for
Drew Barrymore, because of her heavy eyebrows.
Wanda
Anything with Lola Heatherton. Especially when she was messed up on
pills
and was pysically dragged off the stage during a rambling ranting
song. Also
the remake of On The Waterfront with Lola and Sammy Maudlin(was it
Sammy?-it's
been a while)
Tex and Edna Boil's Organ Emporium commercial.
The game show skit with Eugene Levy as the host and Catherine O'Hara
was a contestant named Margaret Meahan who kept pushing her buzzer
without hearing
the question. John Candy pushing his buzzer and then denying it. I
almost peed
my pants the first time I saw it.

Don't forget Dusty Towne's Dirty Little Christmas Special. To this day
I think the funniest thing I've ever seen was John Candy as Devine
singing "Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me". How could you forget the
punchline, "You cut off his arms, you cut off his legs, you cut off
his head, How could you Mrs. Dinky?"
When choosing "Desert Island SCTV", we may have to re-define what
constitutes a "Selection" - does it have to be just one bit, or can it be a
whole "theme" from a Network90 episode or whatever?
For example, the "Great White North Palace" just wouldn't be the same
without all that behind-the-scenes stuff, like Johnny LaRue getting kicked
out of his dressing room, et cetera.....
Guess I'll have to go back and revise my list - again.

I don't know. I'd probably have to pick Dusty, too. Although the Schmenges
are a temptation (again, their show reminded me of family Christmas
traditions--it seems like so many years, one or the other of us opened up
the "wrong" gift because the person giving it forgot who that package was
for--so the part where Yosh gets the doll always resonates with me) and,
of course, The Fella Who Couldn't Wait for Christmas.

You have a point. Well, I'll try...
--Dusty Towne's Sexy Holiday Special
--Crazy Crafts with Molly Earl (the egg carton episode)
--Stairways to Heaven
--The Merv Griffith Show
--Irving Cohen's three commercials (furniture polish, Bojax cleanser,
Tardy Cannon)
--Count Floyd's Have Yourself a Scary Little Christmas (if for no other
reason than Lucille Ball breaking into tears--"Lucy! What's the matter?
"Waaaah! Heeee scaaaaaared meeeeee!" "But, that's *good!*")
--The part of "Garth and Gordon and Fiona and Alice" where they run over
the woodchuck and the CBC guy goes into hysterics
--The Uzbek PSA on the CCCP-1 show
--Mel's Rock Pile with the Queen Haters
--The whole half-hour syndicated episode with the "Wizard of Oz" ending
that had about half a dozen other movies in there, including the Road
movies, Casablanca and Fred & Ginger dancing.
