Just got into Facebook, and now have Juul Haalmeyer, Dave Thomas, Eugene
Levy as friends, the REAL guys! SCTV is very popular on Facebook, there
is a Melonville page, SCTV Fan Club page, etc. Just a newbie, but
learning more and more every day. Get an account and enjoy. Not a
spammer, have no interest other than for personal enjoyment. It got me
to start my own blog, "Monster Chiller Horror Theater" on blogspot.com,
something I thought that I would never do.
Have fun and keep SCTV going into the next century!

I don't do Facebook or Myspace or Twitter. From what I've heard there
are a number of celebrity impersonators on Twitter; apparently you can
go on there and say you are (as an example) Eugene Levy, and fans will
send you messages as though you actually ARE Eugene Levy, until the
real Eugene Levy's lawyers get Twitter to shut you down.

These guys are the real deal. They sent back email replies. I checked
out everything there was to check. I do not use Twitter, I have my phone
locked out for texting and the like.

But it was very nice of them to send back emails, so they couldn't have
been offended.

Do they add fans, I wonder? I've got a fake fb account for lurking and
it looks like they've just added family and people they know.

I think it'd be weird to have them on my list. Cool, but weird. It's
funny how the lines of communication between celebs and fans have
opened up in the last few years. Screw fan mail.

Dusty,
Yes, they add fans and friends also. Dave Thomas is on there, and I have
a friend request pending. Juul was great, he must have seen my profile
and sent me a friend request. Go to Juul's FB page and ask to be added,
then a lot of SCTV will open up to you.

Trevor,
Juul is very nice! He sent me a friend request, I guess after seeing my
FB page and my email moniker, Count Floyd! Juul is a very nice guy, he
has personally written me back several emails and postings on FB. His
page opened up SCTV to me again. I have a friend request pending for
Dave Thomas and have signed up as a fan of a lot of the characters we
know and love.

Yes, I'm actually fb friends with Joe, although he uses it sparingly.
People used fb for different things, and for me I'd rather wait until
they appear on my suggested friends list before I put in a request.

Actually Joe had started following me on twitter and we had previously
had a nice chat regarding my review of the Benefit of Laughter show in
Toronto.

Of course, on they other end they might control the news feeds of fans
as that surely would overload their facebook if they added many fans.
They might add fans for info and for messaging. Who's to say. I don't
blame people for not being as timid as I am sometimes -- it's just teh
way I am.

I became a friend of Juul, also...he's a delightful guy. We bantered
back and forth last week about the show and about the tornado damage
in our respective areas. I requested to be friends with Joe, but
didn't hear back...apparently, he isn't on FB much, anyway. I am only
a member of Eugene's fan club...couldn't find the REAL him, to be
friends with.

I became friends with John Cleese, but I think it's either a bot, or
an imposter. No biggie. Its all free fun, anyhow.

Joe just OK'd my request to be FB friends! He has friends who are big
in the comedy biz in Toronto. I tried Dave Thomas too, but so far
nothing.
